Miss Charm is the first Miss International pageant founded by Vietnam. The contest was scheduled to take place from 2019 but had to be postponed twice due to the Covid-19 epidemic. Miss Charm is restarting and there will be 40-50 Miss Country Pageants competing.

Notably, the Miss Charm Contest Organizing Committee said that a series of contestants who are national Miss and Runner-up converged to make this beauty contest more fierce. What surprised many people was that the contest organizer has just announced that it will apply blockchain technology (Blockchain) to the process of voting contestants. Within the framework of Miss Charm 2023 will include an online voting contest - Miss Blockcharm.

The difference of this voting contest is the integration and participation of Web3 applications such as fan tokens, NFTs ,... The reason given by the Organizing Committee is to promote the applications of Blockchain in life.

Specifically, spectators and fans of contestants participating in the contest can register to receive airdrop tokens (tokens distributed for free) from the Organizer. The amount of audience tokens in hand is used to vote (DAO voting) for performance costumes for contestants.

In deeper rounds, fans of the Miss can buy NFTs issued by the Organizer to receive the corresponding tokens. NFTs that fans own act as an electronic ticket so they can attend exchanges, meet directly with Miss.

Reflecting the "chaos" of the Miss pageant, Nga said that in 2022, Vietnam has more than 20 licensed Miss pageants. Before that, there were only 2-3 Miss pageants every year, 2-3 Miss Queen pageants. The new decree is not limited, all provinces can grant licenses, so in 2022 Vietnam has many competitions. This is a normal law of the market, everyone can do it as long as they do not break the law.

"Each competition has its own audience and sponsors. We applied for permits before the new decree. We are committed to investing seriously, thoughtfully and transparently, not only in the beauty pageant but also in accompanying the promotion of culture, education, and noble criteria of the Miss pageant."

Besides, the case of Nawat Itsaragrisil, President of Miss Grand International, sending a letter asking national directors not to send Miss Charm contestants attracted attention. Specifically, if the copyright holder of Miss Grand International countries sends representatives, including beauties who have competed to Miss Charm, the copyright will be withdrawn by Mr. Nawat.

To this news, the chief organizer responded: "We would like to refrain from commenting on the activities of other beauty organizations. We can only confirm that there are no less than 80-90 countries sending applications for Miss Charm. However, we only select about 40-50 representatives of countries to compete in the first season to best control the quality of contestants for our competition."
