Those who love the art of bingo are probably no stranger to the name Nam Cha. He works in groups such as Saigon Tan Thoi, Huong Nam... and is loved by his charming and humorous style.
In addition, Nam Cha is also a familiar actor to the audience in a number of films on gay topics.
The Year of Cha and the journey of makingover, becoming the champion of Laughing Through Vietnam
Nam Cha's real name is Ta Quang Thinh, born in 1992 in Cai Lay, Tien Giang. He was independent from a young age, when he was 12 years old, he left his hometown to go to Ho Chi Minh City to study boarding. Loved acting and singing from an early age, but because there was no one to guide, Nam Cha's career journey was quite difficult.
When he was still a student, he used to "sneak" to apply for the entrance exam to the School of Theater and Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City, but because he could not practice, he immediately failed the "parking round". Not giving up her passion, Nam Cha continued to study Business Administration, and at the same time worked hard to participate in the school's art competitions and took advantage of singing at cafes on weekends to earn extra income.
After that, Nam Cha gradually realized that the major he had chosen was not suitable for him, so he decided to reserve the results to pursue his passion. He was introduced to the crew by an actor friend.
"In the beginning, I just did odd jobs, then I was introduced to make costumes, take care of clothes, do laundry for actors, and then a brother taught me to be an assistant director. When working as an assistant for the movie "Lo To", I met Mr. Huu Chau, so I boldly applied for an audition, then officially enrolled", Nam Cha Share about the journey of artistic charm.
After the movie "Lo To" was released in 2017, Nam Cha received many invitations to perform. The boy from Tien Giang has also been hooked on bingo singing since then.
Nam Cha added that while studying acting, he was still looking for opportunities to play mass roles, working part-time at a clothing store or sewing factory of acquaintances to have money to cover and pay tuition fees. He himself always tries his best to be able to both earn a living and pursue art.
In an interview, Nam Cha said that the trade of bingo at the fair received many prejudices about "pretending to sing as a girl", wearing attractive clothes, and using obscene words. He also encountered many rude cases when acting. Although heartbroken by public opinion, Nam Cha is still proud of her work and choice.
The actor confided, "I respect what the universe and my parents have given me. I'm gay (PV), not transgender. But when I transform into a female, I feel beautiful. More popular, more popular, and more attractive on stage."
However, Nam Cha confided that in real life, he still looks like a man and loves it. Recently, the actor attracted attention when he won a contest for LGBT. Nam Cha said that in the near future, he will embark on projects for his community. He also cherished the idea of a center that teaches skills in performance, dancing, bingo, makeup, etc.
"I hope to be able to spread the positive spirit to the community," Nam Cha shared.
After a period of filming, going to bingo, in 2023 he decided to participate in Laughing Xuyen Viet.
Constantly improving and transforming through each round, Nam Cha has excellently overcame a series of opponents to become the next Champion of this hit comedy show.
Talking about his journey to a professional acting stage like Laughing Xuyen Viet 2023, Nam Cha said he was under pressure and faced many difficulties. "I went through a long journey with 4 to 5 months of training with my colleagues to achieve an important milestone in my career. A difficult journey with countless challenges. Sometimes, I think, I don't. I could continue, but with passion and love from the audience, my colleagues gave me the strength to try to overcome, reach the goal.
I am familiar with impromptu acting on the bingo stage, so when I entered the competition with a professional, well-organized piece, I was overwhelmed and pressured because I could not keep up with the pace and circuit of the show. It was that pressure that caused me to have fear and anxiety when stepping on stage and gradually losing my personal color. The first time I went on stage to act, I could only focus on reading lines like... answering cards because I had to remember the script, remember my co-star's lines, the rhythm, the pieces... and couldn't get rid of the confusion, I was want to give up," Nam Cha confided.
Thanks to the enthusiastic support from close colleagues, Nam Cha gradually regained her confidence and enthusiasm. He began to "makeover" with charming pieces of comedy.
"I am extremely grateful to the older artists and brothers and sisters who did not hesitate to support and love. All of them put aside their own work, even turned down many shows to practice and contribute to the performance. I can feel the love that people have for me. They love me because of their brotherly love, their co-workership and their profession. Phat, Ms. Maika, Ms. Kim Nha, and Baby Tu... everyone put all their energy to help me" - Nam Cha said.
He added that after participating in "Laughing through Vietnam", he realized that he had to learn a lot in acting and stage. He plans to do vocal training next, learn more about acting, radio from the stage... "The contest is the foundation and a place for me to see that I need to try harder, not to be satisfied or satisfied. I have to be responsible for my work, for the audience and for the investment in my roles "- the actor confided.
Both parents left home
In a TV program recorded more than 2 years ago, Nam Cha made many people emotional when he reunited with his parents and brother in his hometown of Tien Giang.
Many viewers were surprised when the birth of the Year Cha had been ordained a long time ago, when the two brothers were young. "We haven't had a meal together in a long time, so I silently invited my teacher and aunt to have dinner with my brothers and sisters," he said chokingly as he ate dinner with his relatives.
Nam Cha touched to share because it has been more than 10 years since his family had a meal together, so he called and invited "teacher" to have a meal. The presence of their parents brought both brothers to tears. Nam Cha also brought out a cake to celebrate the age of his parents. Because he was busy in Saigon, he rarely came home to visit while his parents relied on the monastery, so it was rare for the brothers to blow out candles with their birth father.
