Duong Thanh Vang: He became famous thanks to his loud voice when selling fish, quit his job of 20 million/month to pursue acting

Quit a job earning 20 million to become an actor

Duong Thanh Vang was born in 1991, is from Bac Lieu, attracted attention when he won the 4th prize of "Laughing Through Vietnam 2015" and was a member of Xem Laughter team - champion of "Comedy Village Open Festival 2016".

Before becoming an actor, Duong Thanh Vang was a former student of Applied Mathematics at Can Tho University. He is also a bright face, typical for volunteer movements. "In the summer of 2013, I went on the Red March from Ca Mau to Hanoi, donated 40,000 units of blood, and helped many pediatric patients. I was full of youth and it was the most beautiful time in my life. me" - Duong Thanh Vang said.

Duong Thanh Vang plans to become a teacher after graduation. But it was the glory on stage that gave him strong motivation to move into a completely different field.

"Before entering the artistic path, I worked as a teacher, and my side job was event organizing. Eight years ago, my income was more than 20 million. At that time, work was light, I just sat in the communications office. After that, I entered the theater profession with passion and love.

On my first day in Saigon, I was overwhelmed from the traffic to the dining culture, houses, and roads. Can Tho is also considered the "capital" of the West, but when I first came to the city, I saw that 5 years in Can Tho was nothing compared to one day here.

In the past, "Laughing Through Vietnam" was not the first program I participated in but another contest in 2014. Uncle Trung Dan himself came to Can Tho and judged the competition for me. In 2015, by chance participating in "Laughing Through Vietnam", Ms. Phi Phung, Ms. Kieu Oanh, and Mr. Anh Duc gave me the opportunity to go to Ho Chi Minh City. On March 18, 2015, the first day I set foot in Saigon was at the Queen Hall stage," Duong Thanh Vang recalled.

When he first started his career, Duong Thanh Vang made an impression with a name that could not be confused with anyone. "My family, like many Western families, dreams of a prosperous and prosperous life. My parents named my older sister Tien, my name is Vang and my younger brother's name is Bac. I took that name as my stage name with the dream of having "gold". "I returned home to my parents. However, after graduating from university and working hard for 2 years, I only brought back powdered gold, not gold bars, bars or cards." Duong Thanh Vang continued.

But the truth is that you did not discourage Duong Thanh Vang. He continued to practice and participate in many comedy shows to improve his knowledge and skills to be more successful. He lived his life to the fullest, without regretting any period of time because he experienced many fields: acting, dancing, circus, or catwalk. "I have been passionate about dancing since 5th grade. I cut off all my shoes, leaving only the hard toe part to practice ballet. I stood against the wall and practiced standing on hard toe shoes. When I was young, I watched many of Hoai's comedy DVDs. Linh, comedy has always been in my body. Comedian Hoai Linh is a great motivation for me to pursue my dream of acting."

Considered a promising comedian because Duong Thanh Vang has a terrible speaking speed, without stumbling, but Duong Thanh Vang said he possesses this skill "thanks to cursing a lot when selling fish". He said that when he was young, he had a "black fund" in the form of a fish pond next to his house. Regularly at 7:00 a.m., the actor wakes up, drags his net, takes it to the market to sell, and at noon comes home to go to school. However, Duong Thanh Vang did not exploit that forte. According to him, the advice of a senior he considered a teacher said that "when it comes to comedy, try to bring the cleanest and most beautiful things, don't make the character weird." Therefore, he does not "distort his appearance" but always tries to "not scare the audience even if the character is ugly".

I changed many things to get into acting

Remembering the difficult times of being a "skilled" actor, Duong Thanh Vang recalled: "Entering the theater profession is a completely different story. To be able to nurture this passion, I must continue to try. trying to cope with the difficulties of the job and the small salary. The most difficult time was 2016, after 1 year participating in "Laughing Through Vietnam", every day I ate exactly 1 package of noodles.

It was so miserable that I thought 'Why do I have to go down this path?'. I stand between the boundary between passion and money. In the end, I chose to continue and decided to change and accept more game shows. Many times I feel shy when I see Uncle Dan, Teacher Minh, and Teacher Chau.

But until now, I am very proud to continue to pursue the profession, trying to act in a way that brings artistic value to the audience. Luckily, I came out of a game show with love and support from my colleagues and the audience."

Duong Thanh Vang admitted to having cosmetic surgery

When asked about whether appearance is so important to artists, Duong Thanh Vang frankly said: "Not only art, but all areas of life. When you have a beautiful appearance, you will easily attract good people." more sensitive. The same goes for Vang. Initially, Vang was not a very beautiful person."

He confided that at first he looked quite strange. After those competitions, the actor admitted that he was "brain saturated", stuck when he couldn't think of new things and wanted to stop because he encountered many difficulties.
