Duong Duong was 'invaded' by the Market Management Department, causing its feng shui to 'lose its magic'?

Tiktoker Duong Duong, who has 588K followers, was recently 'visited' by the General Department of Market Management and had many feng shui goods of unknown origin seized.

Information from Market Management Team No. 11 under the Market Management Department of Quang Nam province said that on December 3, this unit has just inspected the compliance with the law in the production and trading of goods and services for the Duong Duong Duong business household in Tra My town, Bac Tra My district, Quang Nam province.

At the time of inspection, the authorities discovered that the Duong Duong Duong business, represented by Mr. Mai Van Duong, was selling 50 packages of house-warming powder with a listed price of VND125,000/package and 10 boxes of agarwood buds with a price of VND450,000/box. The total value of the goods was nearly VND11 million.

Notably, all products have no basis for determining their origin, including information on labels, product packaging, records, and accompanying documents. Mr. Duong also could not provide invoices, vouchers, or other papers proving legal ownership of the goods. In addition, at 254 Hung Vuong (opposite 163 Hung Vuong, Tra My town), there are no signs of display, business, or production.

The report of Market Management Team No. 11 stated that Mr. Mai Van Duong admitted that the above goods were bought and sold on the market for profit, so they had no origin. Market Management Team No. 11 drew up a record of administrative violations and confiscated the above goods.

Upon investigation, it was found that hot Tiktoker Duong Duong's real name is Mai Van Duong (born in 1986, address Tra My town, Bac Tra My district, Quang Nam province). Tiktoker "Duong Duong Phong Thuy", with 588K followers; Facebook page "Duong Duong Phong Thuy" with 195K followers regularly shares videos and images of Mr. Mai Van Duong advertising and introducing feng shui items and agarwood bud products.

To increase interaction, in addition to posting videos about charity activities, the above mentioned social media channels/pages also posted many videos of Mr. Mai Van Duong showing off money, diamonds, and bragging about selling thousands of orders a day; along with many controversial statements, involving many people.

According to the reporter, the address 163 Hung Vuong, Tra My town, Bac Tra My district, Quang Nam province is Duong Duong Duong Coffee.

The shop displays some products such as agarwood buds and incense powder. "We only have a business registration, we don't have any other documents about the products," said an employee at Duong Duong Duong Coffee when a reporter asked to buy the products. Regarding the address of the production facility, an employee at Duong Duong Duong Coffee said that it was produced in some localities in Quang Nam province, but did not specify which address!?

After "closing" the purchase of some agarwood products under the Duong Duong Duong brand, this employee walked to the address 254 Hung Vuong, Tra My town, Bac Tra My district, opposite the coffee shop to pick up the goods and deliver them to the reporter. The money was paid through Mr. Mai Van Duong's personal account.

The case of male Tiktoker Duong Duong is a typical case of detecting counterfeit goods. In the 11 months of 2024, the market management force inspected 65,881 cases, detected and handled 45,045 violations with a total fine of 841 billion VND.

From October 15 to November 14, the market management force inspected 4,809 cases, detected and handled 3,300 violations, and collected over VND 36 billion for the State budget. Not only regular consumer goods, but many items such as functional foods, cosmetics, medicines, and electronic cigarette products are counterfeited in large quantities for sale on e-commerce platforms, directly threatening the health of consumers.
