After seven months of meticulous preparation, an engagement ceremony in Vinh Long unexpectedly reverted to a traditional, simple yet emotionally resonant style. The main character is Chuc Binh (born in 2000) – a bride from the Mekong Delta who made many viewers smile as they watched, thanks to the many heartwarming details.
The dream started with my parents' old wedding album.
For Chúc Bình, the vision of her big day didn't come from social media or modern wedding designs. Her childhood was intertwined with her parents' wedding album from 31 years ago. The photos, imbued with the passage of time, her mother in a radiant wedding dress, her gentle smile, and the very "Western Vietnam" wedding atmosphere, are deeply etched in her memory.
It was from this experience that Binh nurtured the desire to recreate the spirit of traditional weddings, but with adjustments to suit modern life. Remarkably, this idea received full support from both families and the groom.
Seven months of preparation for an engagement ceremony is not a rushed affair.
Instead of waiting until the last minute, Chúc Bình started preparing for her engagement ceremony seven months in advance. She developed the overall concept and discussed it thoroughly with the decorating company to ensure every detail reflected her desired spirit: old-fashioned, warm, and intimate.
The attire was also meticulously chosen. Binh personally selected the fabric and had a traditional-style wedding ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) custom-made. The groom, Thai Tai, also had a matching suit made, not overly elaborate but harmonious with the overall atmosphere.
Besides the traditional Vietnamese dress (áo dài), the bride also prepared two other dresses to change into during the ceremony. One was a white dress with a style reminiscent of brides from the past, complete with a veil. Most surprisingly, there was a blue dress, an item that left many people astonished.
The 100,000 VND dress and its very own unique touch.
The blue dress wasn't from a big brand or a luxury store. Binh bought it at a wedding dress clearance store for only 100,000 VND. It was the unusual color, with its vintage feel, that made her buy it immediately.
For Binh, it's not just a wedding dress, it's a memory. She wanted a different look in her wedding album, like brides of previous generations used to wear colored dresses instead of just pure white.
Engagement ceremony venue: stepping inside evokes memories.
The engagement ceremony was a warm and intimate affair with about 40 guests, including close relatives and friends. The space was decorated with a backdrop featuring traditional patterns, combined with items associated with life in the Mekong Delta: teapots, bamboo tables, sewing machines, oil lamps, carrying poles, etc.
The floral arch also attracted attention by using two banana trees that had already borne fruit, combined with fresh flowers and coconut leaves. Items that seemed to belong only in memories suddenly became a favorite "check-in" spot for guests.
A small but meaningful detail is the decorative ornament hanging from the ceiling – a symbol of good luck and prosperity, often seen on important occasions in the Mekong Delta. For Binh, it's an image closely associated with his childhood at his grandmother's house, so it's indispensable.
Moments that everyone will remember.
When Binh appeared in her traditional ao dai dress, the groom couldn't hide his surprise. Friends jokingly teased that just by looking into the groom's eyes, they could tell how much the bride was loved.
But the real highlight came when Binh stepped out wearing a blue dress. The entire room almost froze for a few seconds, then burst into laughter. The unconventional touch made the engagement ceremony truly memorable.
A traditional engagement ceremony, opening a new journey.
Chúc Bình and Thái Tài plan to hold a modern-style wedding in the near future. But for many, this traditional engagement ceremony is enough to become a beautiful memory – not only for the couple, but also for those who saw images of their own parents' weddings in it.
The Western wedding caused a fever when the bride took out a pot of gold and drove a 24 billion supercar to her husband's house
Quỳnh Quỳnh16:28:55 28/12/2023Looking at the image of the bride wearing gold around her neck and her hands full of bracelets and rings makes people's eyes dazzle. The most notable must be the dowry performance of the bride's mother when taking out the gold pot. Everyone admired the wealth and playfulness of the parents.
