Actor Doan Minh Tai recently shared a health story that surprised many viewers when he was a guest in the program Husband and wife broadcast on HTV7. Here, the actor revealed that he had pre-cancer of the thyroid gland and was very lucky to be directly treated by his father-in-law – a doctor specializing in cancer treatment, helping him overcome the dangerous period.

In the program, Doan Minh Tai recounted the time of working with high intensity when he was young: "When I was 25 or 30 years old, I worked a lot. About 10 years ago, the TV series was constantly filming, and I was also lucky to receive a lot of invitations. Some months I run 2.3 films." That busyness brings him many career opportunities, but also makes his body gradually exhausted without him realizing it.

The actor said that after a long time of "plowing" the film continuously, he began to show abnormal signs. "One day, I was exhausted, short of breath, insomnia, and lost weight. I think I plowed too hard, so I just got sick." At first, he only thought it was a consequence of working too much and lacking rest. However, when he went to the doctor, the doctor found that he had a thyroid nucleus and had hyperthyroidism. "The doctor said that I have hyperthyroidism, so I have a temper, insomnia, and weight loss. Then I took the medicine. After drinking for about 2 months, it will return to normal. Then follow up about once every 6 months."

It seemed that everything was fine, but the turning point occurred when he met Sunny's father – his wife – who is an oncologist. "On 1 day, I met Sunny's father who is an oncologist. My father looked at the records and made me go for a re-examination. My father suspected that I had pre-cancer, but so that I could rest assured, he hid it, just called the date and time, and then went for surgery." Doan Minh Tai admitted that he was very lucky to have a professional and dedicated father-in-law: "I was very lucky to meet my father, he was very good and treated me."

His wife – Sunny Dan Ngoc – also shared more about that special surgery. "Mr. Tai's surgery was in 2020, at that time I was a 2nd year student preparing to go to 3rd year. The father was the one who directly operated on him. At that time, I was a student, so I was able to go into the operating room, and part of it was that he was worried, so he asked me to come in with him." Witnessing her husband's surgery was both a pressure and an unforgettable experience for Sunny.

Sunny said that the family had prepared psychologically in advance: "Myself and my parents knew that he had a problem, but a cold biopsy was needed at the operating table to know the exact results." When the results showed that it was pre-cancer, the whole family breathed a sigh of relief. "My mentality from the past to now is that the disease is cured, wherever it goes, it is done there, not pressure, not pessimism. When I found out that he was sick, I was already psychologically prepared, so when the result was pre-cancer, my father and I were very happy. I can cure it just before cancer."

After that, the doctor decided to cut 2/3 of Doan Minh Tai's thyroid gland. Since then, he has had to maintain taking medication regularly. "Later, I still took medicine. After 5 years of continuous medication, I stopped for 1 month." Not only medical treatment, Sunny also takes care of her husband with a healthy diet. "When he was sick, I was a vegetarian for him. At that time, I was a vegetarian for 1-2 months. Later, I will officially become vegan."
