Do Bao: 30-year-old musician has been a secretive career, live concert caught up in controversy with "A-list star" ticket prices

Musician Do Bao is a name that is no longer strange to Vietnamese music enthusiasts. He is a talented musician in the Vietnamese light music industry, with many compositions that have stirred up Vietnamese music charts.

Musician Do Bao is a talented musician and music producer. Although Do Bao is still young, his name is known to many people for collaborating with many famous singers. Do Bao's talent is proven through the works he composed such as: Love Letters, Songs for You...

In addition, Do Bao is better known to young audiences when he conducts a personal live show called Canh Cung. With his talent, Do Bao has many fans and is a famous name in the entertainment service industry. At the same time, he is also considered by many people in the profession to be the most modern and representative light music musician. In his career path, the male musician has also achieved many successes.

Do Bao was born into a family where no one worked or was involved in art. His life is closely related to music, so from a young age he demonstrated his ability to write music. His youth is summarized with two words: composing and this is also his dream.

Since he was in school, Do Bao founded a band called Sao Mai. With his talent, musician Do Bao has conquered many major music awards.

Right from the time he was in school, Do Bao founded the band Sao Mai. In 1993, Do Bao's band participated in a number of large and small art shows across the country. What's worth mentioning here is that the band was a resounding success. After only one year since its inception, the band has become famous in Hanoi with a list of quite famous songs. At the same time, he also received many invitations to perform at major venues and events.

While working with the band, Do Bao had the opportunity to come into contact with many different music genres around the world. Thanks to that, he started to turn to composing music. During his time as a student at the Hanoi Conservatory of Music, Do Bao demonstrated his ability when performing the arrangement for the album Nhat Thuc by singer Tran Thu Ha and musician Ngoc Dai. Thanks to that, Do Bao became more famous.

Following the success of the album Nhat Thuc, musician Do Bao also achieved achievements with other albums such as: Canh Cung (2004), Time to Love (2008), Story of the Sun - Our Story (2013) , ... .

In addition to these albums, he is also loved by the audience through the Love Letter series. However, for now this series is on hold with the 5th Love Letter. Do Bao once shared that:

"Out of my 100 songs from past to present, I could absolutely take a certain song and name it the 6th or 7th Love Letter... but I can't do that. I want the "love letters". My "love letters" must have exciting, uplifting colors and hardships like no other. Completing love letters is a bright dream that I always think about."

These albums further affirmed the reputation of musician Do Bao. He won many awards that made many people admire him. Special mention must be made of the duo of Songwriter of the Year and Album of the Year awards in 2009 and 2014.

Especially at his personal live show Canh Cung, he won even more fans. With this program, musician Do Bao does not use any official mass media to promote. He only went through his personal Facebook. Even though it received a response from fans, the show still encountered controversy when it had a price tag that was considered "A-list star".

Specifically, Do Bao's Live concert has ticket prices of 9 levels, ranging from 1.2 million VND/ticket to 6.2 million VND/ticket. Each ticket class is named according to the lyrics in the song he composed such as: At the lighthouse, At the passionate shore, The frosted glass window, After the firelight, The sunny window, Uptown sunset, Next to the Lake mirror, Under the clear sky, The endless sky.

Compared to current shows, Do Bao's live concert ticket price is considered quite high. Sharing about this, Do Bao said that he and the program's crew discussed and thought a lot before finalizing a ticket price plan to ensure production costs and not incur losses.

Do Bao said he was stunned by the investment cost of producing two shows because everything is so expensive right now. The male musician revealed that ticket prices for shows at the National Convention Center have recently been very high, making him think sometimes it's obvious.

The production crew said that to get the best results, ticket prices had to be pushed up. Do Bao and his colleagues met many times to negotiate a reduction, and finally came up with the current ticket price.

Do Bao affirmed that with such ticket prices, he wants 2 nights of shows to be able to satisfy and convince all audiences, from the most important people to those who come to listen to his music for the first time.
