Ly Hung once set a record of 60 gold trees per episode, which was the box office guarantee of Vietnamese cinema in the 80s–90s. At the age of U60, the actor lived in a large villa, full of material things but still lonely, never married.
In the memories of many generations of audiences, when it comes to the most brilliant period of Vietnamese cinema in the 80s–90s, the name Ly Hung is almost an irreplaceable symbol. Born in Vinh Long, he stepped onto the screen with a pompous appearance, a handsome face and a bold demeanor of a Western actor, quickly winning the public's affection. Not only famous for his appearance, Ly Hung also created an unprecedented milestone in terms of salary, when receiving a remuneration of up to 60 gold trees for each episode, thereby being recorded as the actor with the highest salary in Vietnam at that time.

Trained in martial arts by his father, People's Artist Ly Huynh, since childhood, Ly Hung himself performed many dangerous actions, creating a sense of authenticity and strength on the screen.
For long-time audiences, Ly Hung is not only an actor but also represents a golden age of Vietnamese cinema, when every screening with him is full of viewers. Recently, the actor reappeared as the supporting role of Kien An in the movie "Ma Bau Inn", a work that mixes horror and humor. The story revolves around two friends who accidentally rent an old motel room, where mysterious phenomena related to the ghost of a pregnant woman continuously occur. Behind the creepy shell is heartbreaking tragedy and sacred motherhood, bringing emotional depth to the film.
In real life, Ly Hung currently lives a fairly private and full life. He owns a villa of about 700m² in Tan Binh district, designed in harmony between classic and modern styles. The living room space displays many family photos and awards associated with the artistic career of the Ly family. Upstairs, he reserves the living area as a luxury suite to rest and find peace.
