The owner of Cheems recently announced the sad news that his pet has passed away due to illness. Cheems passed away on Aug. 18 after surgery to puncture his chest.

"A Shiba Inu with a round face, always smiling. It helped a lot of people during the pandemic, bringing joy and laughter, but that mission is now accomplished. I believe Cheems were free in the sky, where there was a lot of delicious food and new friends. Cheems will always be in my heart," the owner of Cheems emotionally shared.

Cheems reportedly suffered from a lung-related disease that, despite undergoing intensive treatment, did not survive. This dog is 12 years old, the news of Cheems' death makes many people love pets in general and this cute dog in particular cannot help but be merciful.

Cheems' owner held the funeral, placing Cheems in a box filled with flowers before taking them for burial.

Kabosu was born in a rescue dog farm. After the training camp was closed, Kabosu and 19 other puppies were left in dog shelters and nearly all of these dogs died later.

After escaping death, Kabosu was adopted by a Japanese teacher named Atsuko Sato in 2008 and was able to live with her two other cats with boundless love.

To show her affection for her "housemates", Atsuko posts and photos about Kabosu on her personal blog and accidentally receives a lot of attention.

In it, the image of Kabosu lying on a couch with his front legs crossed and a worried expression has impressed and become an extremely popular meme around the world until now.

"I never could have imagined the effect my Kabosu shoot would have on the internet. The picture has evolved and taken on life of its own over the past decade. It was shared millions of times and created a whole community that loved this image," Atsuko said.

In late 2022, in a series of Instagram posts, the owner of adorable dog Kabosu said her dog was in "very dangerous condition" after being diagnosed with chronic lymphoma leukemia and acute biliary hepatitis. Kabosu couldn't even eat anything.

After a few days, Atsuko posted a picture of Kabosu with the message: "Currently, (Kabosu's) liver condition is very bad, but I hope that taking antibiotics will improve the situation. Kabosu had an appetite and a good drink. Thank you so much for everyone's attention."

Atsuko's announcement has made many fans of this dog feel worried. Under the posts, many fans wished this adorable dog soon to be healthy again and bring a lot of joy to those around him.
