"Rootless", "don't feel like it's pho" are the comments that Vietnamese diners say about Chi Pu's new pho restaurant. Contrary to that low rating, Chinese people are quite satisfied with the food, which is known to be due to Chi Pu doing 1 thing.
March 2nd was the opening day of Chi Pu's second pho shop in Shanghai (China). This 2nd branch is located in a famous commercial center in Shanghai.
Not unexpectedly, on the opening day of this 2nd branch, many fans came to support Chi Pu. Accordingly, on social media platforms in China, fans posted photos showing off meeting her idol and coming to support her pho shop.
Besides meeting idols, fans also did not forget to enjoy Vietnamese pho at La Ganh pho restaurant. If in the first branch, the opening day only has beef noodle soup, at this 2nd branch, there is chicken noodle soup and other diverse dishes on the menu. Both of these Vietnamese pho dishes have received many compliments from Chinese diners.
Contrary to the good reviews from Chinese guests, Chi Pu continues to receive strong reviews from Vietnamese customers. Recently, in a review clip of a Vietnamese guest living in China, this person said that he felt quite happy to see the success and love of Chinese audiences for a Vietnamese artist.
However, after enjoying the dish, like many Vietnamese customers before eating at Chi Pu restaurant, the singer's 2nd branch of the savory broth is even very salty. He also hopes the bar staff will consider adjustments.
Previously, in most reviews of Vietnamese customers, netizens found that there was one thing in common: "10 people, all 9 people" criticized Chi Pu salty pho. Almost never seen Vietnamese people visit Chi Pu restaurant without leaving compliments, some even think that Chi Pu pho completely lost its Vietnamese pho roots.
It can be seen that, having just opened for a few days, Chi Pu branch 2's shop has not received any compliments from Vietnamese customers, making netizens wonder "How salty is the broth of Chi Pu pho shop without receiving 1 compliment from Vietnamese customers?" Below the comment section, many fans of the singer defended that where pho is suitable for the taste there, the Vietnamese girl said that she went with a Chinese friend and this person also criticized pho as very salty.
A TikTok account shared what it felt like to enjoy at Chi Pu's La Ganh pho restaurant. In terms of taste, this account said that the pho flavor here "lost its root", "there is no feeling that it is pho", milk coffee is too thin, more like cold brew, iced tea is like "colored water". The only thing that gets praised is the toss.
And yet, in a video when YouTuber Khoa Pug arrived in Shanghai, he took a Chinese friend to Chi Pu's pho shop to enjoy and review. When trying beef noodle soup, Khoa Pug commented that it was a bit salty. However, the accompanying friend also explained that the Chinese have a slightly saltier taste than the Vietnamese. From there, it can be seen that Chi Pu's La Ganh restaurant has changed a bit to suit the taste of Chinese people, because most of the diners coming here are Chinese.
In addition to Khoa Pug, many other famous tiktokers also stopped to try Chi Pu restaurant, typically the guy Call Me Duy. Specifically, according to Call Me Duy's initial feeling, he evaluated the bowl of meaty pho, chewy noodle soup, moderately soft.
However, because the pho at the restaurant is cooked in a northern style, the broth is a bit salty and the guy who is a Westerner is more inclined towards sweetness. Besides, the broth is quite fatty compared to traditional pho water, that adjustment is probably to suit the taste of local people.
