The singer in question is Dawn Robinson (58 years old), a former member of the famous R&B girl group En Vogue. She recently shocked fans when she revealed in a video posted on YouTube that she had been homeless in her car for the past 3 years.

"Guys, for the past three years, I've been living in my car," Dawn Robinson shared in a video that aired on March 11. The singer breathed a sigh of relief as she admitted this, as if a burden had been lifted: "I said, oh my gosh, it's over."

According to Dawn Robinson, in 2020, she was still living with her parents in Las Vegas. At first, everything was great until a series of conflicts left the singer hurt and decided to leave. The manager initially offered Dawn Robinson a place to stay with him for $1,700 a month. However, the apartment was not big enough because they both had pets. This temporary stay lasted for eight months, which she found difficult to accept as she was forced into a situation where she could not find a permanent place to live.

"Sometimes people want to keep you vulnerable, to keep you dependent on them. So I got out of there," Dawn Robinson said of the difficult situation she found herself in. In 2022, the singer researched car living and decided to give it a try. "I felt free, like I was camping. It felt like the right thing to do," she said.

Three years later, Dawn Robinson is still determined to make her choice, wandering around many places but mostly heading to Malibu, California. The singer emphasizes that she is not sharing this experience to get pity from anyone. "It's not 'Woe is me.' I'm learning about myself. I'm learning more about myself - as a person, as a woman," she says firmly.

"There are a lot of celebrities who have lived in their cars over the years: Hilary Swank, Jewel, Steve Harvey, Kelly Clarkson, Sam Worthington, Drew Carey, Suze Orman, Tyler Perry," added Dawn Robinson. However, life isn't always easy.

The singer admitted that she missed her family and those she was close to. "But I need to do this alone... I need to do this for me," she said before tearfully revealing that her beloved dog Max had died in the car, leaving her truly alone.

Despite the hardships she faced, Dawn Robinson has no regrets about her decision. The singer said that if she could, she would choose an apartment to live in, but is "completely" satisfied with what she has gone through. "I am proud of what I have achieved here," she affirmed.
