In 1952, Khanh Ngoc joined the South Wind Band - a choir consisting of sisters Thai Thanh, Thai Hang, musicians Hoai Trung, Hoai Bac and Pham Duy. Later, the Southern Wind band changed to the Thang Long choir.
Despite the presence of Thai Thanh, but thanks to her splendid beauty, Khanh Ngoc soon rose to become the main vocalist of the Thang Long band, began to record and take pictures for advertising. At his peak, Khanh Ngoc was a big name, often welcomed by the press and public opinion.

An affair with brother-in-law
After a period of working with the Thang Long band, Khanh Ngoc fell in love and married musician Pham Dinh Chuong (the younger brother of singer Thai Hang, ie brother-in-law of musician Pham Duy, and also the brother of Thai singer. Bar). The two have a son together.
In the family, Khanh Ngoc must call Pham Duy brother-in-law. Because Khanh Ngoc was too beautiful and Pham Duy was too liberal, the two found themselves together not long after Khanh Ngoc gave birth to a son.
Pham Duy knows that Khanh Ngoc is his wife's sister-in-law, but he can't help but be captivated by her enchanting beauty. In contrast, Khanh Ngoc knows Pham Duy is her husband's brother-in-law, but it is difficult to resist her talent in music. So, the two had an affair.
Previously, musician Pham Dinh Chuong had heard some rumors about an illicit relationship between Khanh Ngoc and Pham Duy, but because of his utmost love for his family, wife and children, he ignored all rumors.
But the storm suddenly hit when his sister, Thai Hang, caught a date between Khanh Ngoc and her husband Pham Duy at a tea shop in Nha Be - Gia Dinh.
This jealousy incident suddenly became popular, causing a stir in public opinion, causing the press to spend a lot of paper and ink. The keyword "eating Nha Be tea" became the hottest "hashtag" among the public at that time, causing everyone to spread the word. Many people also derided it because it was an incestuous love, unacceptable.
On his side, musician Pham Dinh Chuong suddenly fell into a deep pit of despair. He was surrounded by hundreds of rumors that were not related. Each article is like a knife cut into the heart of a passionate musician.
Soon after, Pham Dinh Chuong filed for divorce and won custody of his son. After this event, Pham Dinh Chuong suffered terribly, no longer wholeheartedly going to perform.
He returned to live alone and did not interact with the outside. During the same period, he focused on composing and releasing immortal love songs to talk about a painful and tearful love such as: The last night, he passed away from me, When the love was over death, In the beginning, When I die take me to the sea...
On a rainy and windy night, Pham Dinh Chuong suddenly met Khanh Ngoc at a music concert. Because of his loyalty, Pham Dinh Chuong went to the water first and intended to invite his ex-wife to come home, but Khanh Ngoc refused outright and left.
Because of his suffering, on that very night, Pham Dinh Chuong composed the song "Half a soul in pain", which later became immortal through Thai Thanh's singing.
Khanh Ngoc did not see Pham Dinh Chuong again after that. She went to America to study film and improve her vocal skills at Pasadena Playhouse College. During that time, her name was constantly mentioned in the press.
Later, Khanh Ngoc rarely appeared in public. She married a new family and opened a restaurant in the US, giving up the art path.
Khanh Ngoc died in May 2021 in the US, at the age of 85.
