Khanh Ngoc's real name is Han Thi Lan Nam, born in 1936 in Hanoi, a half-Chinese, with a Vietnamese mother.

In 1951, Khanh followed his family to the South and studied music with many famous musicians at that time.

Despite the presence of Thai Thanh, but thanks to her splendid beauty, Khanh Ngoc soon rose to become the main vocalist of the Thang Long band, began to record and take pictures for advertising. At his peak, Khanh Ngoc was a big name, often welcomed by the press and public opinion.

At concerts and discos, Khanh Ngoc is the most popular vocalist in the band. Her name and charisma brought the band to the top of the Southern music market in the 1950s.

In the family, Khanh Ngoc must call Pham Duy brother-in-law. Because Khanh Ngoc was too beautiful and Pham Duy was too liberal, the two found themselves together not long after Khanh Ngoc gave birth to a son.

Khanh Ngoc died in May 2021 in the US, at the age of 85.
