The 38th Covid-19 case in Vietnam died from liver cancer

Recently, according to the Treatment Sub-Committee of the National Steering Committee for Prevention and Control of COVID-19, Patient 3197, a 64-year-old female, has a history of chronic hepatitis B 10 years ago, liver cancer was discovered 4 months ago, died.

The patient was taken to the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases on May 4 with the diagnosis: Sepsis/liver cancer, chronic hepatitis B, hemophagocytic syndrome.

The patient was treated with intensive care, mechanical ventilation, broad-spectrum antibiotics combined with antifungal drugs, anti-inflammatory drugs, blood transfusion, and vasopressors.

The patient was also consulted by leading professors in the field on May 18, 2021.

Diagnosis of death: Septic shock in patients with liver cancer, chronic hepatitis B, hemophagocytic syndrome, leukopenia, SARS-COV-2 infection.

This is the 38th death of the patient related to COVID-19 in Vietnam.

In recent days, the situation of the Covid-19 epidemic is taking place extremely complicated and dangerous in many provinces and cities across the country.
