" Our competition is held with a strong commitment, and it would be unfair to judge someone based on unimportant criteria. With a strong commitment and based on the hard work of the state competition representatives, I have decided to remove the minimum height standard ," said Poppy Capella.

Despite the explanation, the statements of the organizers and Poppy Capella still did not calm the anger of the public. Many viewers even demanded a boycott of the contest.

In an earlier news that shocked the beauty world, Sally - Director of Miss Universe Bali province has denounced the "anthropometric test" at the Miss Universe Indonesia 2023 pageant.

Specifically, Sally said that in this part of the competition, the organizers made it mandatory for contestants to completely remove their clothes in front of a judge consisting of both men and women. However, it is worth mentioning that the male judges used their phones to take pictures of the girls.
