Singer Tuan Canh is from Hanoi and studied at Hanoi School of Culture and Arts. In the early 1990s, he was loved for his folk-influenced songs and often performed shows in many provinces from the South to the North.

In the late 1990s, Tuan Canh became the "boss" of his daughter - the once famous "child singer" Xuan Mai. After a broken marriage with Xuan Mai's mother, for nearly 20 years, Tuan Canh has lived a secret life abroad.
