Recently, Cai Luong artist Vuong Ngoc visited the grave of the late Meritorious Artist Vu Linh. Here, the male artist shared memories of his close friend. While burning incense for his late friend, the male artist revealed an interesting detail that few people know about Meritorious Artist Vu Linh.

He said: "I was a close friend since childhood, living in the same neighborhood and playing with Vu Linh. Back then, our house was opposite Ngoc Hoa Hospital, now Hospital 175, Nguyen Kiem Street. Our neighborhood was called Com Chay Hamlet. Vu Linh started singing before me. Since the ag.e of 14, Vu Linh started singing, but I didn't start singing until the end of 1975."

Standing in front of Vu Linh's grave, burning incense, artist Vuong Ngoc revealed something that few people know: "Vu Linh, today I came to visit you. Vu Linh's childhood name at home was Nhu, few people know this name. People call me artist Vuong Ngoc but at home I was called Hai. Today, Hai went to Nhu's grave to burn incense. We are the same ag.e, but I am 3 months older. Today is the first time I come here to burn incense for you. I wish you soon reach the paradise."

It is known that artist Vuong Ngoc used to work in the Saigon 3 opera troupe, was also a leading actor and was quite famous. After the decline of opera, he could no longer perform and had to switch to other jobs. Currently, artist Vuong Ngoc lives a difficult life, having to work as a waiter and waiter at a restaurant owned by a sworn brother, despite his old ag.e.

Every day, artist Vuong Ngoc drives from Can Giuoc to District 7 to help sell rice. The restaurant is quite crowded, so artist Vuong Ngoc is busy and has to make iced tea himself to serve to customers. Although the work is hard, artist Vuong Ngoc still misses his job, sometimes standing alone to sing vọng cổ.

Even though he works as a waiter, artist Vuong Ngoc still dresses neatly and tidily. He shared that because sometimes people still call him to sing here and there, he has to dress like that so that if someone calls, he can go right away. His house is in Can Giuoc, very far away so it is not convenient to go home, only when he finishes work for a day, he goes home to rest and then goes to work the next day.

Although he is not rich, he always appreciates what he has. When someone calls him to perform, he earns a little extra mone.y to cover living expenses, with each performance being paid from 500,000 to 2-3 million VND.

Recalling the golden past, Vuong Ngoc sadly said: "I used to sing and have many beautiful photos of my youth, but now I can't keep them because they were lost when I moved house." His regret is not only about the photos but also about the glorious period of Cai Luong. However, the beautiful memories of his youth and passion for art still live forever in his mind.

After the city was liberated, Cai Luong declined, artist Vuong Ngoc encountered many difficulties and had to work many jobs to make a living. In his personal life, he had an unfortunate marriage, and his son followed his mother back to the countryside.

About Meritorious Artist Vu Linh, real name Vo Van Ngoan, born in 1958 in Cho Lon, Saigon. Because his family was poor, he had to give up his education at the ag.e of 13, and his family let him study singing with teacher Van Vi. At the ag.e of 14, he stepped onto the stage and toured the provinces of the Southwest. Later, he sang for the Hoa Anh Dao Kim Chuong troupe and met Meritorious Artist Dieu Hien and artist Truong Anh Loan, who loved him like family and wholeheartedly guided him in his career.
