After receiving an offer to reunite with Brad Pitt in a movie, Angelina Jolie suddenly shared some interesting things. The actress said she felt lonely and had strange silences in her life.
The former Hollywood power couple - who split eight years ago after Angelina Jolie accused Brad Pitt of abuse - are currently locked in a bitter dispute over ownership of the Chateau Miraval vineyard in France, which produces award-winning sparkling wine.
Amidst the ongoing legal turmoil, the Hollywood "action star" shared her emotional thoughts about her current life. In an interview in London last weekend, the "mother of six" revealed that she spends most of her time alone and feels deeply sympathetic to the loneliness of Maria Callas - the character she plays in the biopic about the opera legend titled "Maria".
"I have children whom I love very much, but as an adult, I often feel lonely," Angelina Jolie confided. The actress added: "I realized that I have a lot in common with the loneliness and emptiness that Maria Callas experienced."
She continued: "I still haven't found a way to live a completely independent life. Maybe many artists are like that. We seem to exist in an open, undefined space, which sometimes makes us feel lost and strange."
Not only stopping at personal feelings, Angelina Jolie also just won a big legal victory when the judge required Brad Pitt to submit documents and communications that could prove that he had abused her and the children.
The dispute stems from the 6x actor suing his ex-wife in 2022, after she sold her shares in Chateau Miraval without consulting him.
However, the heated accusations between the two sides appear to have dug deeper into their stormy marriage.
Specifically, Angelina Jolie accused Brad Pitt of pouring red wine and beer on her and one of their six children on a private flight in 2016 - an event that led to their divorce. Although Brad denied the allegations and was declared innocent by the authorities after an investigation, the actress still insisted that this was just the tip of a long-standing chain of abuse.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Lia Martin ordered Brad to provide communications from September 14, 2016, through December 31, 2018. These documents include emails, text messages and other exchanges, excluding those with his attorney or therapist.
Angelina also previously filed a lawsuit alleging that Brad tried to force her to sign an $8.5 million non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to cover up "years of abuse." Angelina even claimed that the agreement was not only coercive but also aimed at silencing her, preventing her from revealing the truth.
Angelina's lawyer, Paul Murphy, claimed that the documents were "vivid evidence" that Brad had "covered up the truth for years." Meanwhile, the 6x actor's lawyer called this a "baseless search" and said that the Hollywood "action girl"'s requests were too invasive.
Despite the never-ending stress, Angelina Jolie remains calm and continues her journey of self-discovery, even though she has to face the lonely silences in life. For the actress, perhaps art and her roles are where she finds comfort amidst the never-ending noise of real life.
Not long ago, Angelina and Brad received an offer to return to the screen together from Canadian director Danny Rossner - the man behind the success of films such as "2001: A Space Travesty" or "The Ultimate Weapon". According to The Post, the director said he would spend nearly 60 million USD (more than 1.5 billion VND) to pay the Mr. and Mrs. Smith stars if they agreed to meet on the set of a new project.
However, on December 15, Daily Mail quoted a source close to the actor born in 1963 who denied this possibility. "All the money in the world wouldn't make Brad appear in a movie with Angelina again. This certainly attracts public attention, but it's not something he would consider for a minute.
They are now sworn enemies so there is no way Brad would stoop to accepting any money just to talk to Angie on screen. She has caused him so much pain. He doesn't even want people around him to mention her," the insider stressed.
