Known as a pair of strikers who play well together on the field, Xuan Son and Tien Linh made many people regret when one of them was injured and had to leave the field in the final match of the AFF Cup. However, they just had a chance to reunite.
The 2024 AFF Cup ended with a convincing championship for the Vietnamese team. The red team won 7/8 matches and won all the semi-finals and finals. Recently, the organizing committee officially announced the best squad of the tournament.
Accordingly, the Vietnamese team occupies 7 positions in this squad, including: goalkeeper Dinh Trieu, defenders Bui Tien Dung, Bui Hoang Viet Anh, midfielders Nguyen Quang Hai, Nguyen Hai Long and 2 strikers Nguyen Tien Linh, Nguyen Xuan Son.
It is understandable that the Vietnamese team dominated the best lineup because of their impressive performance last season. However, the position of center back Bui Hoang Viet Anh made fans wonder. It seems that the organizers made a mistake when the center back who received the most votes in the election was Do Duy Manh.
Notably, Thailand also has two players in the squad, Pansa Hemviboon and Nicholas Mickelson - both defenders. Striker Supachok initially received high votes but eventually fell behind in the race and did not make the list. The remaining two positions in the squad belong to midfielder Kyoga Nakamura (Singapore) and striker Sandro Reyes (Philippines).
This result satisfied most Vietnamese fans because the positions were very reasonable, Supachok played so badly, not being in the best lineup was something they felt extremely happy about. Some people even humorously said that if Xuan Son and Tien Linh were together, the Thai star would also be crossed out.
Speaking of Xuan Son, on the afternoon of January 16, the player attracted attention when he posted a picture of his new hairstyle to welcome the Lunar New Year 2025, called " cornrow". What people were interested in was that he changed his hairstyle while still in the hospital, treating his injury, waiting to recover.
It is known that up to now, Xuan Son has been loyal to his natural curly hairstyle, occasionally using a headband to fix his hair and also shaved his head last year. However, this is the first time the striker born in 1997 has tried a hairstyle with African cultural elements.
On his personal page, he received many compliments for his unique, edgy and individual new hairstyle, showing the strength of a Brazilian player. World-famous players such as Raphinha, Sterling, Sane, Beckham also had the same hairstyle as the 27-year-old striker.
According to Glamour, cornrows have been an important part of black life and culture for centuries. They are now a popular hairstyle among the general public and are embraced by fashionistas around the world.
Cornrows are characterized by braids that are close to the scalp, revealin.g the hairline and white spots. Depending on the length of the hair, the person can create different styles. The number of braids and the thickness can be customized, depending on each person's preference.
In particular, according to hairstylist Charlotte Mensah (UK), cornrows provide a way to protect hair from physical impact, daily styling, brushing, detangling, and even the habitual hair-stroking of many people. However, cornrows are only considered a short-term hairstyle and should not be kept for long to avoid serious consequences such as breakage and damage.
Perhaps that is why Xuan Son decided to change his hairstyle during his injury treatment, to protect his hair and also to look neater and more comfortable when doing exercises. Surely after Tet, he will return to his old hair or have a new, fresher hairstyle.
