After the serious case of Taeil of NCT, Korean showbiz was once again shaken by scandals behind the spotlight, where the more glamorous idols "are exposed, the more scandals are revealed".
Joo Haknyeon kicked out of The Boyz and shocking flower trafficking accusations
According to exclusive information from TenAsia, Joo Haknyeon, a member of the famous boy band The Boyz, has just had his contract terminated by the management company One Hundred Entertainment and was forced to leave the group. The reason revealed was because he had bought and sold flowers with the famous former AV actress - Kirara Asuka .
Many sources in the Korean entertainment industry have revealed this shocking detail. Specifically, at the end of May 2025, Joo Haknyeon is said to have met Kirara Asuka at a private bar in Tokyo, Japan and had sex with her. During this process, the male idol transferred money to Kirara, an act that is identified as buying and selling flowers.
Initially, the management company One Hundred Entertainment only announced that Joo Haknyeon was temporarily taking a break from activities due to "personal reasons", causing much confusion among fans. However, according to TenAsia, in the process of verifying the male idol's recent private controversies, One Hundred discovered clear signs that he was actually seeking physiological relief services. Although the 26-year-old star initially denied all allegations, he later had to admit it after the specific evidence provided by the company.
The news that Joo Haknyeon was kicked out of The Boyz for selling flowers immediately became the center of attention. The incident not only ruined the male idol's career but also led to speculations about a famous producer and the dark side of Kpop.
Legal consequences and weak apology
Notably, even though the incident took place abroad, it will still be handled under Korean law. According to Article 21 of the "Act on Punishment for the Act of Brokering the Sale of Flowers and Related Acts", the perpetrator may face a prison sentence of less than 1 year or a fine of up to 3 million won (about 57 million VND). This means that Joo Haknyeon not only lost his growing idol career but also faces the risk of getting into trouble with the law.
For his part, on the evening of June 18, Joo Haknyeon spoke up on his personal page with 4.4 million followers through the Stories feature. The male idol apologized to fans and denied all speculations about the flower buying and selling behavior.
He wrote: "Hello, this is Joo Haknyeon. First of all, I apologize to all the fans for surprising everyone by reading the article related to me as well as all the unnecessary things. On May 30, 2025, I attended a party with acquaintances. I have never participated in flower trading or any illegal activities as rumored. I have reflected on my actions and once again sincerely apologize to those who were disappointed and hurt by this."
Joo Haknyeon's apology and denial came after One Hundred Entertainment confirmed that he left the group for "personal reasons" and the idol himself admitted to the company about his behavior according to sources. This made his apology weak and difficult to convince the public as well as fans.
"Exposing" the network and suspecting that MC Mong was "mentioned"
It is worth mentioning that the incident did not stop at Joo Haknyeon. Another source revealed that not only this male idol, but also a producer of One Hundred Entertainment was suspended from work due to issues related to flower trading. Immediately, netizens quickly turned their suspicions to famous rapper MC Mong.
Just on June 13, a few days before Joo Haknyeon's scandal broke out, MC Mong suddenly resigned as the production director at One Hundred Label (a branch of One Hundred Entertainment) and announced that he would no longer participate in the label's activities. The reason given was also "personal issues" - a phrase often used to cover up sensitive issues in showbiz.
MC Mong is the co-founder and former executive producer of One Hundred Entertainment (formerly Million Market). Therefore, the rapper's sudden departure, especially in the context of the flower-trading scandal involving artists under the company, has sparked a lot of speculation. Netizens believe that he is the producer who was suspended due to his involvement in these issues.
In fact, MC Mong is no stranger to scandals in Korean showbiz. He once caused a stir when he was accused of pulling out 12 teeth to avoid military service in 2010. Although he was later acquitted, this scandal seriously affected the rapper's reputation and career for many years.
