Amidst the controversy with Phao and Ngoc Kem, ViruSs continuously livestreamed and turned on the comment charging mode, receiving a series of virtual gifts worth tens of millions of dong.
It is estimated that the male streamer may have earned a huge amount of more than half a billion VND after only three broadcasts, not to mention other sources of income. The love drama between ViruSs, Phao and a series of ex-girlfriends in recent days has "heated up" social networks, not only because of the love-money accusations, but also because of the way this male streamer operates his livestreams in a commercial direction. Although he has continuously denied accusations of adulter.y or playing many fish with different hands, ViruSs still cannot avoid doubts that he is taking advantage of the scandal's heat to make mone.y from netizens' curiosity.
From the early morning of March 21 to the evening of March 28, ViruSs had three livestreams with content related to love scandals, attracting millions of views. Notably, in all three sessions, he activated the "only paid subscribers can comment" mode, meaning that netizens who wanted to speak up or question had to register for monthly membership.
According to information from the platform, this subscription fee ranges from 130,000 - 155,000 VND/month, with the 155,000 VND package being the standard. In the livestream on the evening of March 28 alone, the number of new subscribers increased by 629, bringing the total number of subscribers to 4,283 members. If the average fee is 135,000 VND, in just the last three livestreams, ViruSs may have earned more than 578 million VND from new subscriptions - not a small number for emotional confrontations on air.
However, the actual amount of mone.y that streamers receive remain.s unknown, as the platform does not disclose the revenue sharing ratio between TikTok and content creators. Some sources say the split can range from 50% to 80%, depending on the level of each individual's partnership with the platform.
Not only did ViruSs charge for comments, he also received a series of valuable virtual gifts during the livestream, such as TikTok Universe (nearly 18 million VND) or Lion (about 12 million VND). These are virtual items converted from TikTok "coins" - the currency on the platform - and can be withdrawn into cash in the form of "diamonds". However, TikTok usually retains 20% to 50% of the commission from these gifts before paying the recipient.
These two forms of collecting mone.y have caused ViruSs to face a wave of criticism from the online community. Many people think that the male streamer is cleverly "turning drama into mone.y" under the name of explanation and dialogue. Meanwhile, some netizens compare this action to Ngoc Kem - one of the main characters in the noise - who proactively turned off the donatio.n feature and opened public comments to avoid misunderstandings that she made mone.y from the drama.
On forums, the topic "Is ViruSs using drama to make mone.y?" is attracting thousands of comments. Some opinions say that turning on the charging feature is the personal right of the livestreamer, but choosing the right time to deploy the scandal makes many people doubt the real purpose.
However, up to now, ViruSs has not given any official response to the suspicion of makin.g mone.y from the scandal, other than denying the allegations surrounding love affairs. In the most recent broadcast, he affirmed that information such as "abandoning the chil.d", "having an affair with a staff frien.d", "owning sensitive items"... are just rumors without specific evidence, and refused to continue the debate without authentic data.
It is worth mentioning that the livestream on March 29 was announced by ViruSs as the last one related to the scandal, but he still kept a low profile about whether he would continue to open the comment charging mode or not. In this livestream, he completely turned off the comment feature, no longer requiring payment as before, which surprised many people. However, the number of simultaneous views still reached 500,000 people, showing that the attraction of the incident has not shown any signs of cooling down.
The male streamer emphasized that throughout the past time, he chose to remain silent and when he spoke up, it was to "explain, not attack, not distort the truth". He expressed his desire to close the noise here and move to another platform to continue livestreaming in the near future.
ViruSs's conversation with Ngoc Kem caused a stir, demanding to release a shockin.g clip to silence his ex-lover?
