One day at the end of April 2018, To Dinh Khanh (born in 1993, hometown of Dak Lak) encountered the biggest event of his life at the age of 25. Having undergone 2 major surgeries only 3 days apart due to a serious illness, Khanh permanently lost legs.

According to Khanh, his life was going normally until he felt the numbness that made his legs weak and could no longer walk. Going to the hospital, the doctor diagnosed that the blood clot in the aorta caused blood to not circulate, Khanh's leg was gradually necrosis and the most severe case had to have his leg amputated.

Recalling the days of "fighting" for life, Khanh still remembers clearly: "When I called to Cho Ray hospital, people always refused me because they had many cases but my condition was too serious. Now there's been a case of a blood vessel occlusion but complications in a day are so fast. I wasn't sure where to go, but 30 minutes later Cho Ray hospital agreed to let me transfer. like it's about to explode.

When the doctor informed me that I had to amputate my leg but there was no way to save it, I imagined what I would do if I had my leg amputated, and then remembered what disabled people or unfortunate people I met in real life? I just feel like I just need to live. I signed the consent form for surgery and called my parents to let them both in. If I die, I can see them for the last time ...".

In the first surgery, Khanh was only cut to the thigh, there is still hope that after recovering, he will be able to install a prosthetic leg. But after only a week, Khanh's wound continued to necrosis, had to continue cutting surgery, removing the hip joint to save his life.

"The doctor said this is a major surgery, the survival rate is very low because my health is not very good, the family should also prepare psychologically and after. Cutting off a leg like that takes a lot of strength and blood. Had to have surgery again, amputated half of my body, I really couldn't believe I could live," - Khanh said.

Therefore, before performing the surgery, Dinh Khanh was afraid that he would no longer be able to meet his parents, so he made a clip to see as his last words.

In the clip, Dinh Khanh painfully said: "Dear parents, I'm sorry. I'm the first son, but I haven't done anything for my family. I'm sorry for making my family suffer because of me. I haven't made up for it. This is my last video talking to my parents. Thank you for respecting my last opinion. Either way, don't be sad. If there's anything wrong with me. I have 2 children. I will bless my family. I apologize to my parents for being an unfilial child. Hello parents!".

This is also the first time he announced a video clip with his parents and audience.

When hearing her son's sharing, Ms. Nhien and Uncle Thuyen (Dinh Khanh's parents) were in tears and were speechless.

Also at the show, Khanh's parents revealed about the guy's condition after coming home from the hospital, making viewers feel sad. Ms. Nhien choked to share: "At first, after the successful surgery, Khanh kept crying silently until her eyes were red, but when she saw her mother, she stopped immediately. After returning home for treatment for a year, there was a time when Khanh did not want to talk. With someone, how many times are you going to commit suicide?"

Although Khanh was devastated, the family never once gave up patience but still tolerant, suppressed negative emotions and tears to encourage each other to try. Until one day near Tet, Khanh's father, after a year of repression, also burst into tears in front of the ancestral altar, causing the whole family to cry along. That image awakened and revived Khanh's spirit.

"The difficult events are over, now I look forward to a stable life. After I recovered, I started volunteer work, bringing positive things to share to the community of the less fortunate. Now I I'm trying to save money this year to buy my parents a house, continue to work well and have a small family. Now I'm confident and capable enough to take care of my life." I said.

Khanh's dream of a small family home has come true. In the near future, Khanh and his girlfriend will officially return to the same house in the blessing of family, friends and those who care about him.
