Taylor Swift leads MTV Video Music Awards 2023 nominations, BLACKPINK "lands" with 4 nominations

Taylor Swift continues to show her attraction as the artist leading the number of categories, at this year's MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) with a total of 8 nominations.
Recently, the organizers of the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards announced the full list of nominees in categories for this year's ceremony. Taylor Swift leads the way with 8 nominations, including 7 nominations for Anti-Hero music video and 1 nomination for Artist of the Year. Taylor Swift currently has 14 VMAs, behind Beyoncé, who has 28, Madonna with 20 and Lady Gaga with 19.

As such, Taylor Swift will have a chance to set a new record for the number of wins in the "Music Video of the Year" category only by winning next September with "Anti-Hero." If she wins this year, the singer raises her achievement with 4 "Video of the Year" awards at the award ceremony. Previously, Taylor became the first artist to own 3 MVs to win this category.

No less than Taylor Swift, SZA is the artist with the 2nd most nominations at the 2023 VMAs, with 6 nominations. Beyoncé was also nominated in the "Artist of the Year" category. The competition became fiercer when up to 6 artists owned 5 nominations, including: Doja Cat, Olivia Rodrigo, Kim Petras, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj and Sam Smith.

Notably, the 2023 VMAs also recognize a host of first-time nominees such as: Aespa, Burna Boy, Davido, Eslabon Armado, FIFTY FIFTY, Pink Pantheress, Saucy Santana, Stephen Sanchez and Toosii.

In particular, in this year's list of nominees, there are a series of KPop artists "landing", not only in the category dedicated to KPop but also in many other categories.

TXT was also nominated for "PUSH Performance of the Year" (both for their latest title track, Sugar Rush Ride), thanks to their outstanding performance at the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago.

The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards are scheduled for Sept. 12 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The fan poll began on Aug. 8 and ended on Sept. 1.

With the success she has now, Taylor Swift wants to release as many albums as possible.

According to Variety, Taylor Swift shared this during her concert in Los Angeles, over the weekend. In her speech, Taylor said that if she could, she would continue to release a new album.

Besides, the singer added that she has performed music shows throughout her life, since she was a 12-year-old. And it was the affection of her fans that helped her nurture emotions to this day.

"I go through this process when I feel everything, I write a song about it, I show it to you and I ask: Do you like it? Have you ever felt this way?

When you guys come to a performance of mine, if you guys even just nod or make eye contact with me or sing the lyrics of a song during a performance, that for me validates that feeling of mine and makes me feel like it. I'm not alone in feeling it," Taylor told the audience.

Over the years, Taylor has released a total of 6 albums, the latest of which are Midnights and Speak Now (Taylor's Version).
