Shannen Doherty passed away: Photo released before death, revealing wishes

After nearly a decade of fighting breast cancer, star Shannen Doherty (Magic) passed away at the age of 53 on the evening of July 14 (Vietnam time). Shannen Doherty's passing shocked and saddened the public.

Recently, Page Six published the last photo of the actress. The Hollywood actress was photographed with her longtime friend Chris Cortazzo and a female friend on June 16 as they walked out of Kristy's riverside restaurant in Malibu, California. The close friend put his arm around Shannen Doherty's shoulder and they chatted passionately. The trio seemed to have a lot of fun during their outing together.

Shannen Doherty is casual in flared jeans, a shirt with flip-flops and a black baseball cap. She kept her face completely bare. According to Page Six, this was the last time she was seen on the street.

Shannen Doherty was diagnosed with the disease in 2015 and has undergone many different surgeries and chemotherapy. After treatment, the Magic Beauty's condition declined in 2017. Just a few days before Shannen Doherty passed away, the latest episode of her podcast Let's Be Clear aired on July 8. During the show, the actress excitedly revealed her new project: Participating in a podcast reviewing the movie Magic with her former co-stars Holly Marie Combs, Brian Krause and Drew Fuller. The project is called The House of Halliwell - named after the witch family in the popular television series.

Shannen Doherty once said that even though she was actively undergoing treatment, she still tried to prepare for her departure by gathering her assets and belongings. The actress told the podcast that she sold off her assets and let go of unnecessary things to save money for her mother to take care of her old age, in case something bad happens.

"My priority right now is my mother. I know it will be very difficult for her if I pass away first. It will definitely be very difficult so I want her not to have to worry about many other problems," Shannen said.

Shannen Doherty was born in 1971 in Tennessee, USA. She has been acting since she was 11 years old as Jenny Wilder in Little House on the Prairie. Three years later, she starred opposite Sarah Jessica Parker in Girls Just Want to Have Fun. In the 1990s, she was the star of the hit television series Beverly Hills, 90210 and Charmed.
