I was responsible when I was very young, young people admired me. I didn't know who I was. Carrying that responsibility makes me very confused. So I think it's very damaging to tell people who I am. Then it became a threat that freaked me out."

Selena choked up as she told the story a few years ago: "I was heartbroken when a girl came up to me and said, 'I almost took my own life but when I watched your documentary, I couldn't imagine doing it again.' It's the best gift to me, but, look at me... It's crazy to be held accountable."

Selena herself went through difficult times when she did not fully understand her illness. Later, having received the correct diagnosis, the singer felt more relieved. She thanked the doctors for helping her through each day.
