Snoop Dogg went from being a notorious gang member to being known by many as the richest rapper in the world. Recently, the male star attracted attention when he was one of the attendees at the "boss" Diddy's white party.
The media has exploded in an unprecedented way recently when the crimes of music mogul Diddy were exposed to the light. Not only because of Diddy's crimes but also because of the list of top Hollywood stars believed to be involved in the case. Before his arrest, the world's top rapper and music producer had close relationships with many artists.
Music parties at his private mansion are said to have been attended by many top stars and Snoop Dogg is also one of the names mentioned,... Photos of this scandalous rapper partying with many other stars in the past have been dug up.
Before becoming a notorious name in the global rap scene, Snoop Dogg experienced a rebellious youth and terrified others with his decadent lifestyle. Born and raised in Long Beach, California (USA), Snoop Dogg was all too familiar with the neighborhood where vices had become an inevitable part of daily life.
The star was feared by many as a member of the notorious Crips gang in his hometown. Right after graduating from high school, the singer, born in 1971, started using cocaine and was often in and out of prison for his involvement with this illegal substance.
Snoop Dogg also faced a prison sentence for his suspected involvement in the "trial" of Phillip Woldemariam - a member of a rival gang. However, the African-American rapper was soon cleared of the charges because the court determined that he was not the one who harmed Phillip Woldemariam but was only the driver while his bodyguard attacked the opponent. Although he was declared innocent, this incident caused Snoop Dogg to have many legal troubles for three years.
After many failures, Snoop Dogg realized that the path he wanted to pursue was music instead of trying to become a notorious gangster. In 1992, an impromptu recording with Dogg's participation unexpectedly reached the ears of billion-dollar producer Dr. Dre. Impressed with this recording, Dr. Dre called Snoop Dogg to audition and then guided him to become one of the greatest rappers in the European and American music industry later.
Thanks to the perfect launch pad from Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg's career easily took off right from his debut album with the "ear-piercing" name Doggystyle, which hit the shelves in 1993. As soon as it was released, the album received attention from music lovers and sold more than 800,000 copies in just the first week, which was considered a spectacular record for a rookie in the music industry.
From here, people began to remember the rapper born in 1971 with his thick, seductive voice and a series of hits filled with "adult" words. However, Snoop Dogg's music continued to grow, flourish and receive a warm welcome from young audiences.
In the early stages of his career, people were fascinated by Snoop Dogg's hits such as: Who Am I (What My Name)?, Gin and Juice, Tha Doggfather, Vapors, Snoop's Upside Ya Head, Murder Was the Case, Drop It Like It's Hot...
Over the past 10 years, the male rapper's music has become more mainstream, gentle and safe. When mentioning the transition period in the American singer's career, we cannot forget the first milestone with the single Signs in collaboration with Pop/R&B star Justin Timberlake in 2004.
From here, Snoop Dogg switched to pop music with other gentle hits such as Buttons in collaboration with the famous girl group The Pussycat Dolls, Boyfriend in collaboration with Big Time Rush and the peak was the super product California Gurls in collaboration with Katy Perry which "made waves" in the summer of 2010. Three years after California Gurls, Snoop Dogg also collaborated with many other popular names such as: Miley Cyrus, Rita Ora and Dam Funk in the following projects.
In June 2014, Snoop Dogg had a new musical experience when he collaborated with PSY - the owner of the billion-view super hit Gangnam Style in the song Hangover. In 2019, Snoop Dogg became the name that Vietnamese audiences noticed after the famous collaboration with Son Tung in the hit "Give it to me".
Snoop Dogg only showed off his rap voice for about 20 seconds, but his performance received a lot of anticipation and support from many fans. Although the appearance received many mixed opinions, with countless compliments and criticisms, it cannot be denied that Snoop Dogg's name has made "Give It To Me" by the Thai Binh-born singer more known to international audiences.
Looking back at the U50 star's musical journey spanning more than two decades, fans cannot help but admire the enviable artistic legacy with 16 studio albums, 7 albums in collaboration with other artists, hundreds of singles and many remixes.
Snoop Dogg has also become one of the most successful rappers in the European and American music industry, receiving 17 Grammy nominations and selling more than 35 million albums worldwide. The rapper also had his name inscribed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in November 2018 for his great contributions to the music industry.
In addition to his successful singing career, the male singer is also known as a powerful investor with huge capital in businesses valued at billions of dollars. In 2019, Snoop Dogg was named in Forbes magazine's list of the world's richest rappers thanks to his assets of up to 135 million USD.
