The male singer is not afraid to share his private life at the age of 41.
Recently, in a TV program, Quoc Dai appeared as a judge. Here, he revealed the reason why he was still single even though he had reached the age of U50. âMy family often urges me to get married, but I choose to be single,â he said.
At the program, Quoc Dai confided something about his recent life:
"I specialize in singing folk and lyrical genres. I became known to the public after winning the second prize of the Ho Chi Minh City Television Singing Contest in 1998 and a successful duet with Ms. Cam Ly.
Recently, I do not sing but enthusiastically participate in epidemic prevention and relief activities with many other artists.
From the early days, I joined a volunteer group to support the city's anti-epidemic. Initially, it was activities such as giving gifts to people at the guard station, isolation area, supporting people to test Covid, then going to the market, helping the kitchen cook, singing in the isolation area...
I joined the volunteer association of fellow artists. I come to support people, especially doctors, in testing, taking samples, and injecting vaccines for people.
In those days, I saw the difficulties and hardships of the frontline medical team and felt that I was still very fortunate. That makes me want to spread more positive energy to everyone. Hopefully, we will work together to make the epidemic pass quickly."
Next, Quoc Dai shared the reason why he was 41 years old but still single: "I am an extremely private person, especially in love.
Because of my shy personality, after 21 years of singing, I was still a bachelor at the age of 41. I fell in love at the age of 20. The person I admire is a testmate with me in 1996.
My family often urges me to get married, but I choose to be single.
I have been frank with my parents and my family respects my point of view. However, in the future, if fate comes, I'm still ready to follow my heart's call
When sitting on the judge's chair and watching the contestants' performances, I always sympathize with the character's inner self on stage. Simply because I have many unhappy experiences in love affairs, which are early love relationships.
Those brokennesses, bumps and bitterness made me feel self-deprecating, secretly pitying but not daring to open up.
To this day, I still feel regret when I have feelings for someone but in the end do not dare to express love due to many reasons.
However, unsuccessful relationships also made me more emotional to sing many sad songs on stage."
Quoc Dai was born into an ordinary civil servant family in Saigon. From a young age, he loved to sing and was supported by his parents to study cai luong singing. However, because he was too engrossed in singing, the male singer neglected his studies and was "forbidden" by his parents to sing. During his middle school and high school years, Quoc Dai did not participate in the arts, but only focused on his studies.
It was not until becoming a student of the University (now the University of Social Sciences and Humanities of Ho Chi Minh City), that Quoc Dai began to participate in cultural activities again. In 1998, the male singer won the second prize of the TV singing contest and officially entered the professional singing path.
Deadlocked because after 8 years of singing, he still struggled to find a place in the hearts of the audience, while Quoc Dai was about to give up his singing career, he was invited by musician Minh Vy to be the exclusive singer for Kim Loi Studio.
Since then, the image of Quoc Dai began to be associated with good duet performances with female singer Cam Ly, the song "Coffee in the garden" with the combination of the two also became a hit, causing fever everywhere.
After more than 20 years of artistic activities, Quoc Dai owns a successful career, private life and single life at the age of 41 is something that many people admire.
