The two became husband and wife when Phuong Thanh turned 30 years old. After this role, the female artist rarely appeared on screen to focus on her role as a wife and mother, supporting her husband's career. Artist Phuong Thanh's last role was the role of a mother in the television series Wedding Season directed by Do Minh Tuan.

The death of his wife came as a big shock to artist Anh Dung. Before the pain of losing his wife could subside, 19 days later, artist Anh Dung's mother also passed away. The two pains piled up in a short time, causing him to almost completely collapse. Along with the mild stroke, his memory decreased.
Meritorious Artist Anh Dung almost abandoned his job. He once confided that he didn't want to do anything anymore, because as long as he thought, there was no point in doing anything.
