Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Tuan used to be director of Hanoi Heart Hospital, director of Bach Mai Hospital and a leading doctor in interventional cardiology.

For more than two years, Mr. Tuan has been stuck in legal trouble for errors, causing more than 53 billion VND in losses in bidding during his time as director of Hanoi Heart Hospital.

In recent days, Mr. Tuan reappeared as a doctor: a practicing doctor for 12 months before being considered for re-granting his practicing certificate. Mr. Tuan said he started returning to work from July 1, at Huu Nghi Hospital (Hanoi).

About Dr. Nguyen Quang Tuan, he was born and raised in Hanoi. In 1994, Nguyen Quang Tuan graduated from Hanoi Medical University with a degree in general medicine. He then continued to study as a resident physician specializing in cardiology. Not only is he a highly skilled doctor, but Dr. Tuan also possesses remarkable academic achievements. In 1996, Nguyen Quang Tuan attended a 2-year training program at Toulouse University, France to study Interventional Cardiology. In 1997, he graduated from Toulouse University with honors and received an invitation from his professor to stay and work, but he decided to return to Vietnam. In the early stages of practicing medicine, he was guided by professors Pham Gia Khai and Nguyen Lan Viet. In 2005, Nguyen Quang Tuan successfully defended his PhD thesis at Hanoi Medical University. In 2009, he was promoted to Associate Professor. In 2010, the team of Nguyen Quang Tuan and Dr. Pham Manh Hung was awarded first prize at the "Vietnamese Talent Award" in the medical field for the topic "Coronary artery intervention through catheters".

And now, after completing his prison term, he has applied to practice at Friendship Hospital to obtain a practice license and has started practicing at this hospital from July 1, 2024.
