Recently, MS has issued an official announcement about accepting women from 18 to 32 years old to register to participate in the contest as long as they have domestic titles or are officially appointed by the copyright holder. This is considered a significant improvement because in previous years MS only accepted women between the ages of 18 and 28 to take the exam. However, the organization also said it would not accept women who are transgender, have children or are married.

However, MS also said that the final decision is in the hands of the copyright holders in each country. It said: "Each country holding the rights to send candidates for the MS exam has the right to make the final decision on determining the most appropriate age for their representatives." This means that if the local entity decides not to raise the age of registration for the exam, the MS organization will not have the authority to get involved.
