In the 90s, the media and audience called Ly Hung the "King of the silver screen" because of the remarkable achievements he brought to Vietnamese cinema. Many years have passed, Ly Hung is still being received and paid special attention by the public. Currently, Ly Hung is enjoying a peaceful and single life at the age of 52.
The king of the silver screen with the name "Viet Trinh screen lover"
Ly Hung was born in 1969, he is the son of late People's Artist Ly Huynh. As a son of martial arts, whose father is a martial artist, since childhood, Ly Hung was more passionate about martial arts than acting. However, his mother advised her son to follow an artistic path, rather than becoming a martial artist.
"If you punch people 3 times, they will give you 2 back. No one stands still for others to beat them, mom didn't let me go to the ring. My mother was the one behind to take care of the family. , very brave ...", he said.
Ly Hung used to be the youth of many generations 7x, 8x. He is a versatile artist when he has become famous in both acting and singing. Referring to Ly Hung, many people will remember his milestone career with roles in the 90s.
In the program "Super Trio", actor Ly Hung shared about his life and career story, surprising many viewers. Ly Hung shared: "I came to acting when I was 12 years old. The first role I took on was a small role in the movie Phuong. At that time, I was going out with my father when I was chosen by the film director Phuong due to my lack of talent. People.
My scene in the movie was to shoot a policeman in the butt with a leather gun, then run fast. Because I've never acted before, I accidentally used a real gun to shoot, making the other actor angry, shouting very harshly at me. It's one of my fondest memories when I first started my career.
I come from a martial arts family, and I am the son of People's Artist Ly Huynh, so I was exposed to martial arts quite early. Just in grade 6, I joined the martial arts club and was taught martial arts such as martial arts by my father, such as martial arts, boxing, etc. Thanks to that advantage, only a few months after filming the movie Phuong, I continued to be chose to play the lead role in the movie The Birds and the Storm. This is also my first lead role.
At that time, I did not know what acting was, but the film director kindly told everyone about me: "This is the person I have been looking for for a long time". It was an advantage and a godsend for me. When I was 17 years old, I was invited by a famous director to participate in the casting for the movie Pham Cong Cuc Hoa and was fortunate to accept the role.
When I was casting, I kept thinking that the director told me to do it because I didn't know anything about acting. Besides, I don't think I'll go into acting because I was in 12th grade at that time. Who would have thought that I would be accepted into a movie. More surprisingly, at that time, I thought I would only get a small role in the movie, but I didn't expect to be able to play the main actor Pham Cong.
When I received the official announcement from the director, I was extremely surprised, had to ask the director again and again if there was any mistake. The director heard that and immediately told me: "Don't worry, I will teach you to act. I will take care of you all". Seeing that the director encouraged me to act, I also agreed. I did not expect, that movie has brought my name to light until today.
Few people know that all martial arts and fighting roles in the past did not have a stuntman, even less modern techniques and effects like now, so all were performed by actors. Thanks to the advantage of martial arts, I have completed my roles well in the country.
I even got to participate in 6 Hong Kong films. In the fight scenes, I have to do it for real, so I have a lot of scars on my body. I look like that, but if you take off your clothes, people will see scarred hands, legs, even hips. There was a time when I had to act out a scene using a bottle of wine to show everyone's prestige, I didn't know how to act, so I broke the bottle with my hand and was cut off by the shards of the bottle, had to sew up to 9 stitches."
With his popularity at that time, Ly Hung was once registered by Guinness Vietnam with the record of "The highest paid actor in Vietnam" with the figure of 30 million VND/episode. While at that time only 400,000 VND/gold only. If you do the conversion calculation, no one has ever surpassed this record of yours.
As the number one actor on the silver screen of the 90s, Ly Hung was also paired with many of the most popular beauties at that time such as Diem Huong, Viet Trinh, Y Phung, Thu Ha, Ly Thu Thao... Therefore, He is often teased by his friends as "the happiest" because he "hugs them all" when he meets a young and beautiful girl.
However, in the late 1990s, Ly Hung gradually disappeared from the screen. Since 2000, when the film market in Vietnam was saturated and fell into a stalemate, he broke into singing and released 3 music albums. However, the actor's musical career did not leave as many marks as cinema. In 2005, Ly Hung returned to the screen as Lieutenant Nguyen Truc in the movie White Dollars. Currently, although he has passed his peak, his name still has a certain attraction to the public.
It can be said that the big milestone in Ly Hung's career also comes from the collaboration with Viet Trinh. The films they appeared in such as Ngoc in the stone, Thang Long First Sword, Couple on the road of love ... were all resounding successes. Fans even called the couple "screen lovers".
Ly Hung shared: "The chemistry between me and Viet Trinh dates back more than 20 years, when we filmed together in the 1990s. The actors who played with me all had their own beauty and personality. But separately. Viet Trinh is the most harmonious and beautiful person with me ever."
Until now, Viet Trinh continues to receive questions such as: "Why not marry Mr. Ly Hung?"; "Do the two of you love each other?"... In a program not long ago, Viet Trinh spoke up and explained: "I don't talk only to tell the loves to understand more! When Trinh posted a picture, a lot of friends asked why she didn't marry Ly Hung.A lot of people asked and even said that they were in love before. Now Trinh would like to confirm: Trinh and Ly Hung are close brothers from the old days. From the beginning of filming until now, there has never been a love between a boy and a girl.
Not only that, before filming, Trinh admired Ly Hung and Diem Huong. Later, when she was cast with 2 siblings, Trinh found herself very lucky and happy. Please say it one more time for clarity."
Still single despite countless beauties pursuing
Handsome, famous and pompous, Ly Hung is pursued by many people. As revealed by Ly Huong - the younger sister of star Pham Cong - Cuc Hoa in a television program, the number of people pursuing her brother is "uncountable".
However, until now, despite turning 52 years old, Ly Hung is still single, without a wife and children. That's why the actor has to face many rumors about "gender". But he insists that he is "100% yeast" and does not mind the rumors.
Explaining that he has not yet married, Ly Hung said that he himself is not a picky person. "It's a matter of predestined and fate. Usually everyone wants to have their own home. But people have the saying "heaven is in our heart", let's just live like that, tomorrow we will have a family. It's happiness, it's also paradise. Now, even if I don't have a family, it's still paradise," the actor confided.
The current life
After 3 decades of acting, Ly Hung focuses on running Ly Huynh film studio with his family. Being famous and having a certain place in the hearts of fans, it is not difficult for Ly Hung to have a prosperous life. He once bought a 700m2 villa in Ho Chi Minh City and lived with his family.
For many years, he stopped acting but still pursued his passion for singing. Currently, the male talent also participates in a number of TV game shows. "Many studios invited me to act, but I was picky about the script. Any role that I knew was not suitable for me, I immediately refused. With acting, I have seniority, not new. Currently, I prioritize gameshows. and sing more. It's a daily job, it gives me the feeling of being active and still alive with the profession," the actor shared.
