Having played an important part in creating a memorable Min Ho character in XO, Kitty, certainly cannot fail to mention the performance of actor Lee Sang Heon. Currently, he is a name that is sought after by netizens after the movie aired.
Family and fate come to XO, Kitty
Lee Sang Heon was born on May 21, 1996, is a genuine Gemini with a bright and confident personality. He was born in Korea, but grew up in Hong Kong and then studied at the University of Northampton, England, majoring in performing arts. This is also the reason why Lee Sang Heon can pronounce the attractive British accent in XO, Kitty.
The role of Min Ho in XO, Kitty is Lee Sang Heon's first debut as an actor. In particular, actress Gia Kim (who takes on the role of Yuri in the movie) is also Lee Sang Heon's biological sister. It was Gia Kim who sent information about the casting to Sang Heon and did not expect that the two sisters would appear in the same movie.
Since this is his first role, the actor also encountered many difficulties during filming. Sharing with Teen Vogue, Lee Sang Heon revealed how he felt when he first stood in front of the camera, "I remember very clearly the first day on set because I forgot my lines and was very nervous because everything was okay. I wasn't used to the panoramic environment or how to mark my position in front of the camera. It was a very scary time for me, but when I got over the stress, I was feel very happy for these valuable experiences."
Although he debuted quite late, since high school, Lee Sang Heon has realized his love for acting. The actor began his exposure to the arts by participating in school plays. After studying in the UK and performing his military service in Korea, the actor spent time as a photo model to learn more things.
Boom with XO, Kitty
Although XO, Kitty is still controversial in terms of content, but actor Lee Sang Heon taking on the role of Min Ho is the bright spot that attracts the audience.
XO, Kitty is a spin-off of the To All the Boys I've Loved Before series on Netflix. The film's content revolves around Kitty (played by Anna Cathcart) - Lara Jean Covey's younger sister, when she leaves Portland, Oregon, to Seoul, South Korea.
Kitty's original purpose is to find the remains of her deceased mother and reunite with her boyfriend. However, she is stuck in complicated relationships with Dae (Choi Min Yeong), Min Ho (Lee Sang Heon) and her best friend Yuri (Gia Kim).
Among them, the guy Min Ho played by Lee Sang Heon is the character that left the most impression in the hearts of viewers. Many people even joked that Min Ho is the "bright spot" to help retain the audience because the movie's content is no different from a "mixed hot pot".
Specifically, Min Ho is a close friend of Dae - Kitty's boyfriend, who has a handsome appearance, but his personality is cold, careless and "chic". At first, Min Ho always considered Kitty a "wrong family" and often provoked her. But gradually he fell in love with Kitty and the two also had many interesting interactions.
Initially, Min Ho was built with an arrogant "bad boy" image, but the more viewers watch the movie, the more the audience will discover his good personality traits. The scene where Min Ho decorates the room with his own hands to date Madison (Jocelyn Shelfo) shows that this is a romantic and sweet guy.
When Kitty was in trouble, Min Ho was the one who didn't mind the danger but ran forward, using an expensive shirt to put out the fire for her. When Dae misunderstood Kitty's relationship with himself, Min Ho used Korean to argue with Dae because he didn't want Kitty to be embarrassed or feel disappointed about her boyfriend.
Although not a boyfriend, Min Ho is the one with Kitty to share many meaningful moments during her time in Korea. From cooking with Kitty during the Mid-Autumn Festival, noticing her favorite food, to small actions like calling Kitty "Covey", just asking if Kitty and Dae have made up without asking if they've broken up. all show Min Ho's sophistication.
In particular, he is also a rare person to ask about Kitty's mother with sincere and caring eyes while Dae has never done that.
Knowing that Kitty likes Dae, Min Ho always hides his feelings. Only when he knew that Kitty and Dae had broken up, he cautiously confessed his feelings to "crush". The sweet and serious confession on the plane at the end of the movie makes viewers extremely excited. Everyone hopes XO, Kitty will have a part 2 to see how the love story of Min Ho and Kitty will unfold.
It can be seen that, compared to the male lead Dae, Min Ho is built with much deeper personality traits. While Dae and Kitty were attracted in an accidental meeting many years ago and maintain a relationship through mail until now, Min Ho and Kitty have had the process of contact to get to know each other better. Perhaps because of that, the audience has more vibes when witnessing the relationship between Kitty and Min Ho.
Habits and hobbies
Another interesting fact of Lee Sang Heon is that the skin care regimen is extremely simple. If in the movie, Min Ho is famous for taking care of his skin, in real life, Lee Sang Heon only washes his face with cold water in the morning.
Then he will apply some toner essence, moisturizer and sunscreen instead of drinking collagen water like Min Ho. However, the actor still has very smooth skin that makes many people jealous.
One of Min Ho's most memorable scenes in XO, Kitty is when he wears an apron and cooks with Kitty during Chuseok.
Sharing with Teen Vogue, Lee Sang Heon revealed that in real life, he also knows how to cook but will lean more towards Western dishes. Because of his time studying abroad in the UK, he learned to cook from Youtube and often cooks with his roommates. In particular, the dish that Lee Sang Heon is most confident in is beef steak with asparagus and onions.
Not only has a handsome face, Lee Sang Heon also owns a toned and attractive body. However, this is not the result of working hard at the gym, but rather the hobby of climbing. The actor even set up an Instagram account to show his love for this sport. Reportedly, Lee Sang Heon can climb mountains four times a week, thanks to which he is very confident with the scene showing off his body in XO, Kitty.
On Lee Sang Heon's Instagram, a clip of him sitting on a convertible with his sister Gia Kim and "dancing" to the songs has gone viral. In it, the tune "Good Boy" by G-Dragon and Taeyang (BIGBANG) played, making fans extremely excited. It turns out that besides acting, Lee Sang Heon also has a great passion for music.
Next project
After a successful debut with XO, Kitty, Lee Sang Heon is not only loved by the audience but also by many filmmakers. In the near future, fans can wait to meet him on the big screen in the movie Gran Turismo.
This is a sports movie based on the video game of the same name, shot in Budapest. In addition to Lee Sang Heon, the film also features Darren Barnet, a handsome actor in the hit Netflix series Never Have I Ever. Gran Turismo is expected to premiere in August 2023.
