Changed stage name because of gangster threats

In his early days of singing, he used the stage name Chau Kep and then Chau Kiet. However, this name accidentally got him into trouble. Kim Tieu Long recounted a memorable memory: "Once I was mistaken, gangsters came to the group with knives. Luckily I escaped that time, I was so scared that I changed my name to Tieu Long. At that time, I also idolized Kim Tu Long." It was that incident that gave birth to the stage name "Kim Tieu Long", which has stuck with him until today.

After leaving the Central troupe and moving to Saigon to start a career, fate brought him to meet his idol - Meritorious Artist Kim Tu Long. From an admirer, Kim Tieu Long became an official student, introduced by his senior to many venues and stages. Thanks to this guidance, his talent quickly caught the attention of directors. Recalling the past, he emotionally shared: "I always love and respect Thanh Ngan. Every love is beautiful but not every marriage is beautiful... We are not destined to be husband and wife but have gone a long way together". Talking about his son, he firmly said: "If he is my son, I will never abandon him... Sharing with the press, he affirmed: "Thanks to her managing the economy and taking care of the children, I can live fully with my singing career."

For many years, Kim Tieu Long has been pursuing a simple lifestyle. He is a vegetarian, practices meditation, and values spirituality over material things. "Knowing enough is enough. I don't need a big house or a car to live. My happiness is simply being with my wife and children," he shared.
