Faced with fierce criticism and the stripping of her title, the beauty spoke out on her personal page. Palácio affirmed that the Miss Araucária organizing committee had no right to strip her of her title because her term as Miss ended in November 2024, exactly one year after her coronation.

Gabrielly Palácio clarified: "I would like to clarify a serious misunderstanding regarding me and a misinterpreted statement about cats. I affirm that there was no animal cruelty. The video was edited, omitting the part where I corrected my statement and proved that there was no cat there."

However, the 19-year-old beauty deleted the post shortly after. She then shared a photo of a cat sitting on the porch with the caption: "The water cannon is not working, guys. As you can see, I'm shaking and I'm extremely afraid of cats."

Gabrielly Palácio's actions of posting and then deleting the post have further angered the public, who have criticized her even more. The noisy incident has attracted the attention of the authorities. The Paraná State Civil Police has opened an investigation to clarify everything. According to police chief Guilherme Dias, the video could be evidence of animal cruelty, even if the original intention was not to hurt the animals.

"The detonation of firecrackers, even if there is no direct intention to harm, still causes severe pain to animals. This constitutes animal cruelty," Dias told the media.

If convicted, Gabrielly Palácio and others involved could face between two and five years in prison under Brazil's animal protection laws. Investigators are currently gathering evidence and are expected to summon Palácio and others in the video to clarify the case.
