The person who shared the post, believed to be Yang Zeqi’s younger brother, said that his brother had left China to participate in a film project in Thailand. However, at 2 p.m. on December 20, he suddenly lost contact while traveling to the Thai-Myanmar border area.

According to shared information, before the incident happened, on December 8, Duong Trach Ky received a casting notice from a film crew via a WeChat group. After the video interview, he passed the selection round and prepared his documents (including his passport) to go to Thailand alone.

The male model's trip began early in the morning of December 20. Yang Zeqi landed at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport at 6:16 a.m. (local time). The film crew picked him up at the airport and drove him to an unspecified location. At 1:59 p.m. the same day, he changed to another car and sent a screenshot of the map to his friends, showing that his location was at the Thailand-Myanmar border.

On December 21, model Yang Zeqi sent his last message to his friends before completely losing contact.

On December 29, the family received a video call from Yang Zeqi. In the video, he appeared tired, dressed in black, and had a wound at the corner of his eye. Although he tried to reassure his mother that he was safe, his condition made the family even more worried. After the short call, his phone was turned off again and there was no contact again.

The family quickly reported the incident to the police and contacted the Chinese embassies in Thailand and Myanmar to seek support.
