After participating in Vietnam Idol in 2016, his name became more widely known, especially after the songs Price Tag and I'm Yours super cute. And it was that show that pushed his name higher, bringing his music closer to the audience.

Coming out of Vietnam Idol, in 2017, Duong Edward released 3 consecutive million-view covers. Especially the cover of Unrequited Love, Rain on Love, I Don't Want to Be Unfair to You,... has helped his name get closer and closer to the public.

Not long ago, he released the song "Moonlight of Love" which received a lot of support from the audience. Although there are many opinions that it is not as successful as old covers, this is also a new door that opens his own musical path.

In October 2022, singer Dan Truong's manager, Mr. Hoang Tuan, shared a status line about singer Duong Edward using 3 songs of Dan Truong to go on tour but did not ask for permission first.

Specifically, manager Hoang Tuan said that singer Duong Edward once asked for permission to sing covers of 3 songs "Rain On Love", "Unrequited Love" and "Love in the Rain". He only agreed to allow the singer to upload a recording of 3 songs to the YouTube platform, not to the use for performance purposes.

According to Hoang Tuan, for several years, Duong Edward has regularly performed these songs at music venues. At first, he "turned a blind eye" because he thought the young singer needed a song to perform. Yang's repeated copyright infringement has led him to speak out.

"Edward sang the songs Rain Over Love, Unrequited Love and Love in the Rain at many shows without permission. Only the teahouse show took a song as the name of the concert, his side contacted me to ask for permission to perform and pay 1-2 million VND symbolically," Dan Truong's manager said.

He stressed that this is a story of consciousness and attitude. According to him, singers today can clearly distinguish between the act of posting a recording on YouTube and the behavior of using it for the purpose of performing.

Therefore, Hoang Tuan - representative of HT Production - asked singer Duong Edward not to sing 3 songs "Rain On Love", "Unrequited Love" and "Love in the Rain" from this point onwards. Any unauthorized use will apply a fee of 5 million VND/article/time.

Not stopping there, "bad luck" continues to cling to the young singer when artistic activities are also for a long time, but Duong Edward only has for himself a well-known song that is Vibration. It is for this reason that he was labeled "1 hit singer".

Later, when he released Who Is You, he stated that if this song did not become a hit, he would quit the profession.
