After a while of texting back and forth, Van Hau and Hai My decided to meet. The famous defender said that at first the two just talked like normal friends, but then he decided to go further because he liked and was so impressed with Hai My.

Van Hau believes that the love between him and Hai My is truly fate because when they first met, they were both still in separate relationships. Some time later, Van Hau moved to the Netherlands. The two spent about a year without talking, but later met again and became lovers.

After two years of courtship, Van Hau and Hai My decided to make their relationship public in August 2022. In September 2023, the defender born in 1999 proposed to his girlfriend at a resort with a romantic atmosphere. The two registered their marriage on October 20 and a month later held a wedding in Thai Binh, Hanoi.

"Mr. Hau is an enthusiastic person, in both work and life. He is funny but the type to do more than talk. He does not say cheesy love words but shows it with actions," Hai My said about husband. Meanwhile, Van Hau also gave compliments to his wife: "My is a gentle, delicate girl with many other good qualities. After the wedding, Van Hau and Hai My went to Singapore to treat injuries and take a honeymoon. The 24-year-old defender does not need surgery but needs to take a few months off to return to play.
