Actor "Hieu dock" Quang Son - Thyroid cancer, 6 months can't talk

Recently, actor Quang Son shared about his journey to cure thyroid cancer. Three years ago, after having a fever for many days, he went to the doctor and was diagnosed with thyroid cancer at the age of 23.

Quang Son's first surgery was performed in 2020. The second time took place on the 28th of Tet 2021. He underwent 3 times of radioactive iodine intake.

At that time, Quang Son's condition showed signs of metastasis, so he had to be treated quickly.

Winner of the Face of Cinema 2019 on the operating table with an optimistic spirit. Before being anesthetized, he told the doctor's team in a humorous voice: "Everyone sews me beautifully so I don't have to spend money to buy scar medicine", "I'm going to sleep, everyone has a good time". Because of the post-surgery effects, the actor was paralyzed on the right vocal cords, so he couldn't speak for 6 months.

Quang Son recounted the feeling of facing cancer results for the first time: "I was sad and devastated when I received the news from the doctor. Before the day I went to the operating table, I cried like a baby. I wondered why it was so bad. bad things happened to me again. But after that, I quickly regained my composure. Maybe at that time, my life instinct kicked in, I didn't allow myself to be depressed."

Quang Son confided in his family in Dong Nai, living alone in Ho Chi Minh City. At that time, his grandfather was seriously ill, returned to the hospital, and did not know when he died. So he kept his illness a secret.

He said: "I want my parents to focus on taking care of him. I don't want to become a burden for the whole family. I choose to overcome everything on my own. But before I go to the operating table, I have to sign a commitment to bear it. All risks, I had to ask a cousin. Later, the brother who took care of me should tell my family. From then on, my parents knew about it."

After two surgeries, Quang Son said that his health declined and lost his voice due to paralysis of the vocal cords. He has been doing physical therapy all the time and now has 70% of his voice back.

The actor has returned to work but takes on gentle roles that do not require strong emotions because the vocal cords will not be able to withstand when he speaks loudly.

Currently, Quang Son still has to have radiation therapy every 6 months and must take medicine for life. Most recently, Quang Son participated in the program "Perfect Gentleman" and became a contestant of the Ha Anh coach team.

Quang Son was born in 1996 in Dong Nai. He has had a passion for art since childhood. Therefore, when he was still a student, he always actively participated in cultural and artistic activities held at the school. When he went to university, he chose for himself an art school so that he could practice and develop his full potential. He graduated from Ho Chi Minh City University of Theater and Cinema, collaborated with Young World stage. He is a young actor known for his villainous roles.
