"At first, Ly only called me Aunt Ut, but gradually she called me Mother Ut. Every time she saw me, Ly always hugged me tightly and loved me very much. Every time we saw each other, I gave Ly money to use for beauty treatments and to save money for her grandmother."

Artist Binh Tinh said she met Tieu Ly when she had not yet accepted artist Kim Tieu Long as her father. "I sang a few times in Vinh Long and met Ly. We both had good impressions of each other," she said.
