If you often use Tik Tok, perhaps everyone is familiar with the image of a girl with high legs and low legs with a vegetarian bread cart that surprises many people because of her energy. That is Anh Thu or known by the nickname Ms. Khu.
Hidden behind that always fresh smile is a traumatic childhood story, when he was just 5 years old, he was abandoned by his mother, since then Anh Thu has gradually had to live a closed life. However, with her talent for painting, she gradually regained her joy and optimism. Tran Ngoc Anh Thu (27 years old), has congenital leg atrophy. She was abandoned by her mother when she was 5 years old and was raised by nuns at Buu Son Pagoda, Dinh Quan, Dong Nai.
Since childhood, Thu has had to face the pitying eyes of many visitors to the temple. The little girl didn't like that, Thu wanted everyone to see her as a normal person. Seeing orphans and orphans being adopted, I alone did not have them, making Thu feel sorry for herself and lost.
Every day, Thu withdraws herself to the world around her. She chose pencil and white paper to be friends. Whenever she was sad, Thu sat and drew about her fears and things she encountered on paper to relieve her thoughts. Older, when she went to school, Thu began to learn more about painting. "I learned to draw through YouTube channels, not mainstream learning," Thu recounted.
Graduating from high school, Anh Thu graduated in Information Technology, received a scholarship but dropped out halfway. The following year, Thu continued to take the exam and passed the pharmacy major at a college in Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City according to the wishes of the nuns.
During her studies, Thu joined an NGO, where she was taught soft skills, career orientation and English. In 2018, Thu painted a painting to donate to the organization's volunteers from the US to teach the course she participated in. Returning, this person told his superiors that the American man took the initiative to message her and give her an expensive color box. At the same time, he wanted her to draw a picture of his deceased dog.
Since then, the man often introduces overseas customers to Thu to paint pictures of their pets. At that time, she received 50 USD per painting, and Thu was able to earn money by herself by drawing a few pictures per month. After graduating from college, Thu took the risk of turning to another path, living her passion.
At the same time, many orders for pet paintings from foreigners came one after another, Thu only knew how to rush into painting to earn living expenses. From a $50 A4 paper, Thu was gradually paid $75. Every month, drawing about a dozen steps, the little girl was able to support herself in the middle of Saigon.
Now, Anh Thu is no longer afraid to face everyone's eyes. Instead of feeling guilty that they are pitying her, the girl thinks that maybe because she is different and pretty, she should be noticed by everyone. "I have to change my way of thinking, but I can't change the way the world thinks," Thu explained.
In the near future, the girl will attend a painting tutorial as a freelance painter. All profits will be donated to raise funds for the charity program. "I got the results today thanks to the material and spiritual help of many strangers I don't know. It's time for me to do something to see that people's beliefs in me are right," Thu said.
In addition, Anh Thu also owns a "loving transit" station, the Co Khoi vegetarian bread truck that caused a social media fever at one time. Co Khoi's Bread Truck is displayed every morning in a small corner in front of the house at 68 Tran Quoc Thao Street (District 3, Ho Chi Minh City) always welcomes everyone with a warm and cheerful attitude.
Anh Thu grew up in the temple. She was nurtured and protected by the compassionate hearts of monks and soon loved and understood vegetarian food. Every day, Thu and her companion Duong Thi Loc (21 years old) wake up at 4 o'clock, prepare ingredients such as bread, mushrooms, vegetarian pate, so that at 6:30 a.m. they are ready to serve diners.
Childhood events caused Thu's body to lose muscle development function. She gave the bakery the name "Ms. Defect" as if reminding herself: "No one is perfect. I'm still confident, I still love my imperfections."
Her fragile physique and unsteady steps and difficult movements do not make Thu lose her gratitude for life, love life, love people and constantly strive to become a better version every day.
On social media, Anh Thu used to be hurt when she suffered many rude comments about her appearance in the beginning, but now Thu is more confident: "I realize that I don't want others to affect me too much, so I use all the positive energy and love to spread and carve things more gently by myself."
Many social media users praised the little girl for inspiring her to live a positive life, and Thu wholeheartedly appreciated those feelings and said that she herself was motivated by the community.
For now, Anh Thu is gradually changing spectacularly in the way she dresses, she diligently wears many youthful and dynamic outfits, models photos and does not hesitate to constantly hide the flaws on her body, accepting it as a part of life. Above all, in each video that Anh Thu (Ms. Khieu) shared, viewers always feel a positive, confident, loving and gentle energy. Currently, Ms. Cui owns a Tiktok channel with more than 220 thousand followers.
