Death sentence handed down in the murder of four; no apology at the last minute, only two chilling words.

On the morning of April 22nd, central Vietnam recorded five consecutive earthquakes in a short period of time. Tra Linh commune in Da Nang city alone experienced four consecutive earthquakes in less than three hours, raising concerns about unusual geological activity in the area.
A series of tremors occurred in Tra Linh commune.
According to official information from the Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center – Institute of Earth Sciences, the series of events began in the early morning of April 22nd. The first earthquake "woke up" at 5:16 AM with a magnitude of M = 3.0 in Tra Linh commune, Da Nang. Before people could recover, the earth stirred again with a second earthquake of 3.1 magnitude at 6:24 AM. The frequent occurrences made the atmosphere in the area more tense than ever.
Furthermore, two more earthquakes, with magnitudes of 2.9 and 2.6 respectively, were recorded at 7:16 AM and 8:09 AM on the same day. A common characteristic of the earthquakes in Da Nang was that their focal depths were all approximately 8.1 km. The occurrence of four earthquakes in such a short period in the same area is a rare phenomenon, raising concerns among local residents about the stability of the region's geological foundations in the near future.
Spreading to Quang Ngai and the situation becoming more complicated.
Not only Da Nang, but also the neighboring Mang But commune in Quang Ngai province recorded a 2.8 magnitude earthquake on the same morning, with the same focal depth of 8.1 km. Notably, these were not isolated tremors in the area. Previously, on the evening of April 21st, Mang But commune experienced three consecutive earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.8 to 3.4. In total, within less than 24 hours, the border area between Da Nang and Quang Ngai was subjected to eight earthquakes of varying magnitudes.
The series of earthquakes in Central Vietnam follows a 3.0 magnitude earthquake that occurred just over a week ago in the Thac Ba hydroelectric reservoir area of Lao Cai province. Although the epicenter depth in Lao Cai is greater (approximately 16.8 km), the continuous tremors across the North and Central regions have drawn particular attention from geologists. The Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center is currently actively collecting data to determine the cause and provide the most accurate forecasts.
Assess the level of risk and receive expert recommendations.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh, Director of the Institute of Earth Sciences, affirmed that the earthquakes on the morning of April 22nd were all mild (below 3.5 magnitude), posing no natural disaster risk or infrastructure damage. Although the frequent occurrences caused concern, authorities determined these were induced earthquakes and are continuing to closely monitor geological developments in Tra Linh and Mang But communes.
Experts advise people to remain calm and stay updated with official information to maintain an objective perspective. Understanding the nature of minor earthquakes will help the community prepare mentally and avoid being influenced by false rumors on social media.
