The Brad Pitt impersonator often sent Anne poems and love notes, but always avoided her calls, saying he was too busy. Instead, he sent her an AI-made video and proposed to her.

The impostor also announced that he had bought gifts for Anne from luxury brands such as Chanel or Hermès and asked Anne to pay customs fees to receive them. At the same time, he also wanted Anne to file for divorc.e from her husband.

Believing her online lover, a French woman decided to divorc.e and received 775,000 euros (more than 20 billion VND) in compensation from her ex-husband.

After nearly a year together, the Brad Pitt impersonator convinced the gullible woman to send him a large sum of mone.y, allegedly for a kidney transplant. The impersonator told Anne that he was unable to access his bank account because of his divorc.e proceedings with actress Angelina Jolie.

"At first, I told myself, this must be an imposter and it's all ridiculous. But I'm not used to social media and I didn't really understand what was going on," she said.

Anne said she was convinced by the impersonator when she received many pictures of Brad Pitt lying in a hospital bed. The woman sent the impersonator a large sum of mone.y for medical treatment.

She only really woke up when she read the news about Brad Pitt and his current girlfriend, Ines de Ramon, in the newspaper. Anne immediately reported the incident to the police.

"AI has the ability to create a face and voice that resembles me. Therefore, scammers can look and talk exactly like me. My team and I never ask you for mone.y or personal information," Johnny Depp shared.

Johnny Depp also listed all the social media accounts he uses, including Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. The actor emphasized that he does not use X (formerly Twitter), Snapchat, or Discord.
