Although it is not their fault, BLACKPINK's tour is currently facing many troubles. The YG girls faced a serious problem with skyrocketing ticket prices. However, the group recently received good news for surpassing BTS.
Recently, BLACKPINK faced a serious problem when ticket prices for concerts in Hong Kong (China) were sold on the "black market" at skyrocketing prices. According to the schedule of the Born Pink world tour, 4 Blackpink girls will perform for 3 nights at Asia World Arena in Hong Kong (China) from January 13 to 15 next year. Tickets for the concerts were released for pre-order on Nov. 22, while the main sale opened on Nov. 23.
With the attraction of the top girl group today, tickets for 3 concerts were immediately "evacuated" after the website opened for a few minutes. However, Blackpink fans were quick to speak out about not being able to buy tickets at regular prices because ticket holders were quick to buy in bulk.
All tickets sold at regular prices sold out on the official website, but many tickets soon appeared on various resale platforms at markedly different prices. The "black market" ticket side has also begun to appear at unacceptably high prices. Specifically, tickets on the 1st floor of the concert hall cost up to 70,000 HKD (about more than 200 million VND).
In response to this, Blackpink fans are complaining to the concert organizers. On the organizers' Facebook page, fans who could not buy tickets for the 4 girls' concert kept flooding in with angry comments such as "I waited almost two hours and the tickets are sold out" and "What a waste of time". However, on November 22, the organisers also made a statement that they would not be responsible for any issues that arise when fans purchase tickets through unofficial parties.
This isn't the first time BLACKPINK has faced criticism for the way the crew works. Many fans defended that the fact that tickets were sold at sky-high prices was still not the fault of the BLACKPINK members. However, the way BTC works is still considered quite irresponsible. Earlier, in Taiwan (China), concert tickets of boy band Super Junior were recently canceled and officially reopened after high-priced tickets were discovered on the "black market".
Despite being active for more than 6 years, BLACKPINK still seems to be "empty-handed" with the Daesang award, while the group that is said to be a rival of YG - BTS cannot name all the huge numbers of music awards that the group received.
Recently, Blackpink won the first Daesang of their career in the singer category - Grand Prize Singer - at the 14th Seoul Success Awards held on November 21 at the Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel but did not attract much attention. Since their debut in 2016, this is the first time Blackpink has won the Daesang of an arts award ceremony.
Although almost "empty-handed" with Daesang awards, recently, BLACKPINK is still proud to surpass BTS. According to YG Entertainment, the music video for Blackpink's 2019 hit "Kill This Love" has surpassed 1.7 billion views on YouTube.
"Kill This Love" has now become the second K-pop group's music video in history to reach this milestone, with the first being "DDU-DU DDU-DU" also by Blackpink themselves. In addition, according to Soompi, this is also the 3rd K-pop music video to reach 1.7 billion views after PSY's "Gangnam Style" and BlackPink's "DDU-DU DDU-DU".
Blackpink became the first and only K-pop group to date to have 2 MVs surpassing 1.7 billion views. This also means that Blackpink surpassed BTS to hold this record.
Despite achieving great achievements, breaking many records, over the past time, BLACKPINK has constantly been involved in controversy about their performance ability. Many Korean news sites reported that Blackpink was criticized by the audience for frequently making dance mistakes during their recent tour.
Specifically, in the performance clip, member Jennie does not seem to perform some moves due to forgetting the choreography. The singer also lost her balance during a performance. In addition to Jennie, the audience commented that the Blackpink members many times had bad and irregular choreography when performing.
