Anh Tho, whose real name is Nguyen Thi Tho (23 years old), is an outstanding female athlete in the traditional Vietnamese wrestling village. She was born and raised in Bac Ninh, a place with a long tradition of wrestling. Although her family has a tradition of sports, with her passion and support from her relatives, she soon became involved in sports, especially wrestling and volleyball.

Initially, Anh Tho tried her hand at wrestling, but after a while, she realized that she was not really suited to this sport and decided to switch to volleyball. With her talent and constant efforts, she once competed for the Bac Ninh volleyball team and achieved certain successes.

However, in 2021, an unfortunate injury forced Anh Tho to temporarily stop her professional career. However, her love for sports, especially traditional wrestling, still burns within her.

This Gen Z gir.l is none other than Anh Tho, who competed at the traditional festival in Doai village, Hoan Son commune, Tien Du district, Bac Ninh province a few days earlier. Her opponent was Jiu-jitsu fighter Dao Hong Son - the 2022 world champion, 2-time SEA Games gold medalist.

Despite facing a "heavyweight" opponent, Anh Tho still competed confidently and undaunted. This event quickly attracted great attention from the online community thanks to the impressive competition between a beautiful female wrestler and a professional boxer.

Anh Tho shared: "I've only wrestled at the village festival since last year. At first, I felt very nervous because so many people came to watch. This year, since Tet, I've participated in more than 10 festivals. I'm in pretty good health so I can go continuously. After each wrestling match, it probably only takes 2-3 hours to recover."

"At first, I was a bit scared and shy when women competed with men, but when I entered the arena and competed with the wrestlers, I just focused on my skills and was no longer worried. It was also very interesting to receive so much attention from everyone," Anh Tho shared.

She added: "Sometimes I'm a bit worried because when wrestling there is physical contact, and I might accidentally meet someone with bad intentions. Every time I go to the village festival to wrestle, I always invite a friend to go with me so that if anything happens, I can protect myself."

In addition to participating in wrestling tournaments, Anh Tho also actively shares her secrets on social networks. "The mone.y earned from the festival is even bigger than the salary from the training meals. Everyone gives me and the wrestlers a lot of bonuses after each match," Anh Tho said. The "rain of bonuses" is of course an attractive gift for both professional and amateur wrestlers. But for Anh Tho, the joy in the wrestling ring also has spiritual meaning.

"I also want to try many sports because I have loved running and jumping since I was little, but for me wrestling is still my passion. Traditional wrestling and ethnic wrestling are also special features in Vietnamese traditional culture. Therefore, even though I no longer compete, I still participate with other wrestlers at village festivals to contribute to preserving traditions," she shared.
