Runner-up Thanh Ngan officially responded when she was criticized for not getting the Miss Supranational spot from Thuy Tien

The representative of Vietnam to participate in Miss Supranational - Miss Supranational 2023 is the 2nd runner-up of Miss Ocean 2017 Dang Thanh Ngan. It is known that she was "hidden" for 6 years before officially returning and participating in an international beauty contest.

Previously, runner-up Thanh Ngan was not on the prediction list because her name was still quite unfamiliar to beauty fans. Because of that, the queen received a lot of doubts and conflicting arguments.

Miss Supranational is in the top 6 most prestigious beauty contests in the world. This year's contest was held in Poland in July. At this playground, Vietnamese contestants have relatively good results. Most recently in 2022, Nguyen Huynh Kim Duyen brought back the 2nd runner-up.

On May 5, the copyright holder of the Miss Supranational contest - Leading Media Training and Entertainment Co., Ltd. suddenly announced the 2nd runner-up of Miss Ocean Vietnam 2017 Dang Thanh Ngan was appointed to represent Vietnam to attend Miss Supranational 2023.

Miss Supranational is an annual international beauty contest, one of the top 5 biggest beauty contests on the planet (according to the most prestigious beauty site in the world, Global Beauties), operated by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. World Beauty Association SA (WBA), based in Panama.

In 2022, Vietnamese representative Nguyen Huynh Kim Duyen excellently won the second runner-up position, becoming the Vietnamese representative holding the highest achievement at Miss Supranational. Nguyen Huynh Kim Duyen is also the representative of Vietnam nominated by Leading Media and coordinated with Unimedia to participate in Miss Supranational 2022.

Before Kim Duyen's 2nd runner-up, Dang Thanh Ngan said that she was not too pressured to set herself the criteria to achieve or surpass the achievements of her seniors.

For her, first of all, attending Miss Supranational is a chance, a luck that she does not believe she has when the copyright holder Leading Media nominated her to attend.
