Journey to the West 1986 until now is still considered the most classic version for many generations of audiences. Notably, in addition to the 4 main actors, teachers and students, Tang Tang, the demons appearing in the film also left a strong impression on viewers. In it, Ba La Sat - Princess Tie Phien with the treasure of a Ba Tieu Fan makes every opponent have to be cautious.
Ba Tieu fan is a fairy fan. In Journey to the West, Ton Ngo Khong had to borrow Ba Tieu Fan from Princess Thiet Phien three times to put out the fire in Hoa Diem Son. However, because of hatred for Ton Ngo Khong, Hong Nhi Nhi was subdued by Guan Yin Bodhisattva to separate her mother and daughter, so she was determined not to lend a fan. Ba La Sat has a not-so-trivial background, she is a subordinate fairy, serving at Tu Suat palace of Thai Thuong Lao Quan.
At the end of act 60 of the work, on the occasion of the scene where Nguu Ma Vuong was beaten, he had no way to escape in front of Ba Tieu cave, so he had to ask his wife - Thiet Phien to give Ba Tieu fan, author Ngo Thua An wrote: "La Sat When he heard the call, he took off his clothes, changed into a white robe in a religious way, took a fan in front of the cave, knelt down and said: Please spare my husband from the waterfall, I ask Uncle Sun to borrow a fan to fan it. Hoa Diem Son".
After La Sat said that sentence, Ly Thien Vuong - Na Tra led him to the sky, and all the gods withdrew. Obviously, they never intended to offend Rakshasa, enough to understand that her role - even in the status of a fairy exiled on earth - was not trivial.
Twice in love with the role of Ba La Sat
The role of Ba La Sat in the 1986 classic Journey to the West is actress Vuong Phung Ha. She was born in 1955 in Jilin province, China and has had a passion for art since childhood. At the age of 4, Vuong Phung Ha started studying Peking Opera. In her twenties, she became one of the most elite actors of the Jilin Provincial Peking Opera Institute.
Vuong Phung Ha's career began to have a big turning point after participating in the opera Hoa Diem Son in 1983. In Hoa Diem Son, Vuong Phung Ha played Ba La Sat - Princess Tiet Phien.
Thanks to her good acting, good singing and dancing skills, her role of Ba La Sat was well received by the audience. Hoa Diem Son also won the excellent prize at the 1983 National Opera Music Awards.
More importantly, it was this work that helped Vuong Phung Ha catch the eye of director Duong Khiet. She was chosen by the female director to play the role of Ba La Sat - Princess Tiet Phien in the classic film Journey to the West 1986.
Before filming Journey to the West 1986, Vuong Phung Ha spent a lot of time analyzing the character Ba La Sat - Princess Tiet Phien. According to her, although she is not a demon, she is not a good person.
Most of the filming of Princess Tie Fan's character was done in Guilin, Guangxi province. Although filming in caves and rocky terrain is quite difficult and strenuous, but Vuong Phung Ha never complains but is always devoted, trying to fulfill his role to the best.
Because of that, the actress received unceasing praise from director Duong Khiet: "Vuong Phung Ha is one of my favorite actors. She plays professionally, has a very high working spirit, does not mind. afraid of hardships".
When Journey to the West 1986 was broadcast, Vuong Phung Ha's role of Ba La Sat received much praise from the audience. Sincere, emotional and unpretentious acting makes Vuong Phung Ha's version of Ba La Sat so far still considered the most beautiful and successful, unsurpassed on the Chinese screen.
The face of a silver face makes Luc Tieu Linh Dong tormented
Thanks to the role of Ba La Sat, Vuong Phung Ha's name resonates throughout China. However, "red face silver fate", 3 years after Journey to the West, she was found to have breast cancer. Since 1989, Vuong Phung Ha had to undergo radiation therapy, his body was weak, he could only eat a bowl of porridge all day, and he had to drink a large bowl of medicine every day. After the surgery, Vuong Phung Ha's health improved, she continued to plunge into work.
During the time of fighting the disease, despite being very tired and in pain, "Ba La Sat" always kept an optimistic and resilient attitude. The actress once shared in a TV show in 1990: "I feel that life is so short. Having a warm family, a good job, a role to remember, myself. I consider myself very lucky. Life is not wasted."
However, the treatment only helped Phung Ha live a few more years. In 1993, the actress's breast cancer turned to metastatic stage. She took her last breath on May 11, 1993, at the age of 38. Vuong Phung Ha's death made relatives, friends and the audience feel sad. A friend of hers in the film Journey to the West shared sadly: "In 1989, we and the Journey to the West also went to Jilin to play. She invited us to her house to eat. She looked really healthy. Who would have thought that less than 4 years later, she passed away.
Luc Tieu Linh Dong said bitterly: "Ba La Sat is a very close friend of mine in real life. We worked together and exchanged jobs. I was guilty of not knowing that she was sick at that time. The day she died was not present."
Until now, 28 years have passed since Vuong Phung Ha's departure, her character "Ba La Sat" is still considered the most classic in the versions of Journey to the West.
