The first business opportunity Wang Yao discovered upon his arrival was selling flowers. However, due to imperfect market conditions in the early stages, flights were frequently delayed and there were frequent problems with cold storage for flowers. The roses that were shipped to Africa were severely degraded in quality; with that, Wang Yao’s first attempt at starting a business in Africa failed.

In this deal, Wang Yao lost more than 200,000 yuan (about 700 million VND), but he was not discouraged. After that, Wang Yao set his eyes on another field, which is the second-hand clothing trade. In other countries, second-hand clothing is not a popular business, but in Africa, the situation is different. The demand for clothing here is relatively high, especially for low-cost products, not necessarily new clothes.

After understanding consumer tastes, Vuong Dieu began importing cheap second-hand clothes from all over the world, cleaning them, and selling them in stores in Kenya. To compete strongly with other competitors, Vuong Dieu set the criteria: clean and neat. His products were all disinfected, carefully laundered, and checked for every seam and button before being sold.

With such a business philosophy, in just three months, Vuong Dieu opened two branches in Kenya alone. The business then went very smoothly, helping Vuong Dieu accumulate a large amount of money in just a few years.

In recent years, with the development of social media, many people use short videos to express their lives and even make a living from it. Wang Yao, who has a keen sense of business, is very fond of producing short videos. Thinking of his business experience and the lack of domestic knowledge about Africa, Wang Yao came up with the idea of creating footage of life on the black continent.
