For those who are passionate about art and architecture, the name Quach Thai Cong is probably not too strange. He is a German-Vietnamese interior designer, also the owner of the design company Thai Cong Interior Design.

Thai Cong is famous for specializing in interior design for the rich, spreading the high-class lifestyle, true to the goal of "serving 10% of 1% of the rich in Vietnam". Typically, recently, a male businessman announced that he was the first person to sell super luxury goods on TikTok Shop.

That's right, the online community was "aroused" by the "Thai Cong TV" channel's activity of selling household furniture at "sky-high" prices that few people can afford.

Although famous for his luxurious lifestyle and ownership of expensive clothes and accessories, few people know that before he became famous and was known as an interior designer, Quach Thai Cong also I had to start a business in many professions to make a living.

In an interview in 2020, the designer shared that when he was in Vietnam, his family worked as a shampoo and hairspray manufacturer under the brand Le Lan 999.

By 1975, the whole family no longer worked and in 1981 they began to go to Germany. Up to this point, Thai Cong is completely independent in everything. Even the first car he bought was from his own money.

At the age of 15, the designer began practicing magic in all large and small shows. From parties with thousands of attendees to small parties such as birthdays and weddings, he always comes to perform. This job not only helps Thai Cong earn income to buy furniture, but also helps him achieve success with various awards.

After that, he graduated with a major in fashion design at a university in Hamburg, Germany. Holding a university degree, the designer has been working as a stylist and photographer for a long time.

When he was a stylist and photographer for fashion magazines, Thai Cong had a small room uniquely decorated and arranged, which accidentally attracted the attention of a guest in Germany. Then, instead of buying the photo, this person hired him to rearrange the furniture in the room.

Feeling satisfied with the arrangement and decoration, the guest decided to let the designer rearrange the entire house and advised him to try his hand at interior design. That is considered one of the fates that brought Thai Cong from a stylist and photographer to a designer.

Talking about this turning point, Thai Cong shared: "It's because the profession chose me, I didn't choose the profession." Later, when he became famous, he still compared interior design work to performing magic.

"Designers must also know how to transform with their own passion and emotions to attract others into their own world. Design and magic are two but one. If you only focus on technique alone, it will be difficult successful," he emphasized.

Quach Thai Cong has won many awards such as: Infinity Award from the ICP Council in New York (USA); Golden Lion in Cannes (France) and Bronze Award honored by the ADC Council in Germany. At the end of 2012, he returned to Vietnam to expand his business with the desire to contribute to the development of the interior design industry in his home country.
