Tang Duy Tan participated in the "Big Case" stage of Brave Soldiers, coordinating with the Mobile Police and Son La Police to destroy a drug ring. Despite wearing a police uniform, the male singer admitted to being extremely scared.
The final episode of Brave Soldier (episodes 13-15) titled "Big Case" was inspired by a real-life case, mobilizing many forces to coordinate in destroying armed drug trafficking lines from the Vietnam - Laos border into the interior. The program truly recreates the spirit of "Forgetting oneself for the country - Serving the people".
A major project is not measured by days and months but by many years of perseverance, sweat, tears and steely will. With 9 stages of struggle, hundreds of reconnaissance times and dozens of ambushes to capture the subject, the soldiers had to face armed criminals directly in the rugged mountains and forests, dark nights and dense fog, where life always hangs by a thread. The program was filmed in Long Luong, Son La, with the advice of Lieutenant General Mai Hoang, Colonel Tran Thanh Son, leaders of Son La Provincial Police, and officers and soldiers who participated in the project, ensuring a realistic and emotional setting.
The "Big Case" segment is not only a reenactment of a crime but also an epic, honoring the courage and silent sacrifice of the People's Public Security Forces. In this segment, two new role-playing soldiers are singer and rapper Dinh Tien Dat and musician and singer Tang Duy Tan, participating in the Mobile Police Command, in coordination with the Son La Provincial Police. Tien Dat shared: "When I got to play the role of a police officer, I felt like I had a rare opportunity to carry out the noble mission of 'Forgetting myself for the country - Serving the people'". Tang Duy Tan said: "When I put on my police uniform, I proudly thought of myself as a real People's Public Security soldier". Phan Manh Quynh humorously reminded: "It's very hard to be on this program".
Assigned to infiltrate the people, the soldiers took on the roles of three working groups. They blended in with the villagers in simple clothes, assuming many different stories to exploit information. Mono shared: "On the road, I was quite chill, looking at the beautiful and peaceful scenery, but no one knew that under that beauty was once a place of rampant, underground waves of bad elements."
Asking to stay at a local's house in the mountainous area is not easy. People are wary and look at them with suspicion. But thanks to the skills learned from the sharing session with the project officers, the artists are gradually accepted. Hung Nguyen and Mono use their youth to help people with manual work, while Tien Dat, Tien Luat and Thanh Trung approach people through friendly conversations. Simple conversations over a cup of tea gradually become a connecting thread, helping people share valuable information. Thanh Trung commented: "Through information exploitation, we confirm that we have come to the right area, ready for the next activity."
Kieu Minh Tuan's group 2 helped people chop wood and dig soil, while Tang Duy Tan warned: "We have to keep a steady mind because we can be exposed at any time, this is extremely dangerous." Le Duong Bao Lam's group 3 easily integrated into farming, but the homeowner was still wary. Phan Manh Quynh commented: "Professional soldiers had to spend many days and months, not just a few hours like us, to effectively exploit information." Therefore, in the evening, they organized the "drink in, words out" method to collect more information.
The final stage of Brave Soldiers ends like a vivid epic, both recreating a real case and honoring the courage, steely spirit and silent sacrifice of the Vietnamese People's Public Security soldiers.
