Peakboy: talented rapper, the most secretive member of V's close friend circle

Peakboy came closer to the public when he was one of the members of Korea's most popular friend group - Wooga Squad with actors: Park Seo Joon, Choi Woo Sik, Park Hyung Sik and V (BTS).

Peakboy, whose real name is Kwon Sung-hwan on May 27, 1989, is the eldest of two sons.

In 2017, Peakboy posted his debut single "Gin & Tonic" on the audio-sharing website SoundCloud, and he began receiving contract offers from various companies. His first mini-album was called Portrait and the lead single "Shame" featuring George was released on March 14, 2018. Peakboy signed an exclusive deal with Neuron Music and released the single on May 27 through the record label on August 23, topped by the electronic hip-hop track "Birthday" with Hanhae as a featured guest. Peakboy wrote the song in four days, which was influenced by his time in the US two months earlier. He also released his second mini-album Us on April 11, 2019. "Kelly", released from the single album Frola, features the track "Doowap" by his bandmate Paul Kim. The music video for the song was also released a month later. Towards the end of 2017, he held his first concert with Bibi on Christmas Eve.

Peakboy Loop's third mini-album, ahead of lead single "Diet" featuring Mamamoo's Wheein, was released on August 18, 2020. In early 2021, he traveled with his friend to Jeju Island to shoot a music video. Peakboy drew inspiration from the trip and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic to write "Anywhere." A song about travel, the R&B digital single was released on April 20. On July 25, the electronic hip-hop single "Gyopo Hairstyle" was released. Its music video features model Han Hyun-min, actors Choi Woo-shik, Park Seo-joon, Park Hyung-sik and BTS's V

Peakboy's lyrics refer to his thoughts and experiences in everyday life. His lyricism was judged to be outspoken, while his music was described as trendy and original. His background in composition is classified as electronic music and black music. Writing for Atstar1 magazine, editor Hwang Yeon-do described Peakboy as one of the few musicians with a good musical tone, virtuoso rapping ability, and the talent of a singer-songwriter. Peakboy considers You Hee-yeol, Yoon Jong-shin, and Yoon Sang to be his role models.

According to Korean media, Peakboy currently owns a huge fortune of about 4-5 million USD after many years of dedication to art.
