Johnathan Hanh Nguyen: The powerful father-in-law of Tang Thanh Ha, the famous "king of brands" in Vietnam

Johnathan Hanh Nguyen is currently the Chairman of Imex Pan Pacific Group. He was one of the first overseas Vietnamese to be allowed to return home by the Vietnamese Government to contribute to economic development.

Johnathan Hanh Nguyen was born on 31/12/1951 in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa. At the age of 23, he settled in the Philippines and studied at Seattle University in the United States.

After graduation, he worked in aviation and became a financial inspector for Boeing Subcontractors, USA. In 1980, he worked for Philippine Airlines.

Thanks to working for many years in the aviation industry, businessman Hanh Nguyen has made significant contributions to this field in Vietnam. On 04/09/1985, the Philippines approved the decision to open a flight route between Ho Chi Minh and Manila, the credit of Johnathan Hanh Nguyen in this event was not small.

The path of entrepreneur Hanh Nguyen has not been paved with roses as many people mistakenly believe. In 1974 when he went to the US to study, he had to work 3 or 4 jobs at the same time to pay tuition fees.

After saving a little, Johnathan Hanh Nguyen graduated from school and bought a car to work. "There was money I was trying to save. People start a business, there are companies and sponsors to help but I myself started my business from scratch and now the asset is more than 500 million USD, this process is very harsh", Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen said.

In 1980, he worked for Philippine Airlines. In 1985, Johnathan Hanh Nguyen returned to Vietnam to establish Imexpan Pacific Company (IPP) and invested and cooperated in 30 projects with a total capital of more than 280 million USD. These projects all bring in annual sales of about 460 million USD, creating jobs for more than 20,000 workers in Vietnam.

With his experience and capacity, he and five other partners have been entrusted by the Ministry of Transport, the Civil Aviation Administration and the Aviation Corporation of Vietnam to implement the project of International Passenger Terminal - Cam Ranh International Airport. With the determination to complete the project within 18 months from the commencement date, and seeing the construction diary as well as the actual construction of the project, many people exclaimed: No one has done as methodically, seriously and drastically as Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen! And this project officially came into operation on 30/06/2018 in the admiration of experts.

Dubbed the "King of Brands", Imex Pan Pacific Group (IPP Group) of Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen's family is leading many business branches in Vietnam such as branded fashion, fast food chain franchises with world-famous brands, business of malls and duty-free shops, distributing high-end alcohol.

Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen is the man behind famous investment deals such as Eastern Supermarket, Nha Trang Lodge Hotel, duty-free shops at domestic airports and 4 countries in Southeast Asia.

To get the great success he has today, he has spent many years of hard work, experience, effort. Businessman Hanh Nguyen once shared that it took him 30 years to go from empty-handed to the successful billionaire he is today.

The total number of specific assets owned by businessman Johnathan Hanh Nguyen has not been summarized in detail, but is estimated to be in the trillions. Besides, he also owns a lavish, splendid villa and a 5-bedroom luxury yacht priced at $ 4 million (VND 84 billion). Henry Nguyen, born in 1981, is in charge of managing overseas companies, while his second son, Louis Nguyen, born in 1983, is in charge of companies in Vietnam. In November 2012, Louis Nguyen boarded a flower car with Tang Thanh Ha – the "pearl girl" of Vietnamese showbiz. Phillip Nguyen, born in 1984, is currently a successful businessman who owns many famous brands Christian Dior, Chanel, Zara, Lancome,.... Currently, he is the largest representative of Nike brand in Vietnam.

His 2nd wife is Mrs. Le Hong Thuy Tien - a movie actress who played in the movie "Bitter Taste of Love"; She previously worked as a flight attendant for Vietnam Airlines. After getting married, she retired from the entertainment industry.

Currently, the couple has two more children together, a daughter Thao Tien born in 1996 and a son William Hieu Nguyen born in 1998.

During the recent Covid-19 epidemic, Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen chartered a private jet to fly to the UK to pick up his daughter Thao Tien for care and treatment. It is known that the journey from the UK to Southeast Asia by Falcon 8X aircraft costs about 360,000 USD / trip, equivalent to about 8.3 billion VND.
